I got the Nokia 6020 after my previous phone broke. I have now decided to always stick to Nokia as the twice I have used other brands and had problems with both. The Nokia 6020 is a mid range phone in Nokia's range and offers a great range of features at a low cost. I purchased my phone from Virgin Mobile for £89.99 with £20 of airtime free.
The Handset The handset is small and light with easy to read buttons. The buttons are all level with each other but are still easy to press. The main way to navigate the menus on the phone is to use the built in 5 way joystick. The phone has infrared built in to communicate with other devices but there is no Bluetooth built in although an attachment can be brought to add this. The battery is quoted to have a standby time of 480 hrs or 14 days. On my first charge of the phone I got 6 days out of the battery but after each charge it continues to extend in length.
Phonebook The sim card with the phone can hold 200 phone numbers and many more can be held in the phone. When using the phones memory many numbers can be stored under one name so you can add home, mobile and work numbers for each contact without having separate entries.
WAP A WAP browser is included on the phone as it is on almost all phones nowadays. What makes the WAP browser on this phone special though is the ability to view normal webpages. A lot of scrolling needs to be done to view the pages to the tiny screen but I fund this to be a very useful feature.
SMS, MMS + E-Mail This phone has the same SMS and MMS features as most phones. But there is also the ability to send and receive e-mail on the phone. You simply enter your e-mail account details and then it will check them for you and alert you to new messages. This can cost quite a lot of money though as it uses GPRS to connect to the e-mail server.
Camera/Video The camera built into the phone can produce some good quality pictures which look ok when printed out but obviously not as good as a digital camera. The phone can also take video clips which can be up to 50 seconds in length. The quality of video on the phone is rather poor and not many can be held in the phones small memory of 3.6mb.
Other Features The other features on the phone are what many people now expect to be there and this phone doesn't disappoint. It has a calendar to store birthdays and other important dates which can set as alarms to remind you. There is also a calculator plus a conversion application and other standard features like an alarm clock and stopwatch. There is nothing particularly special about these application they just work.
Network As mentioned before I purchased this phone on the Virgin Mobile network. These have been the most helpful and friendly network I have ever been on. I phoned up to register the phone and port my number over from my previous network and they went through all the steps involved and made sure all the information was correct. The network coverage has been excellent wherever I have been. One downside is that the don't offer support for the push to talk which is on the phone and also EDGE which is a new technology which makes GPRS work at broadband speeds.
Overall Overall this phone is excellent it offers all the features I need and didn't cost a fortune. I haven't had any problems with this phone and I would fully recommend it to anyone.
