I never use any Nokia phones, 6100 is the first Nokia phone that I ever use. One thing that I noted about Nokia's is that they are easy to operate but have limited functions. Another interesting function of Nokia's is that there case is changeable Well I was using Sony Erisson when my friend requested me to replace it with Nokia 6100 and I agreed because it was a great set. I like its finest screen and its bright colors.
==== OUTLOOK ========== 6100 has a good look. Power button is at top and all numeric buttons are like leafs. Size is average that fits in your hands, Screen size is average
and fit. Infrared is at right side but I m afraid with it because it only work with the infrared cable and the volume button is at left side. An excellent feature is that it has loud speaker that enables you to listen your calls louder. Back look is also well and overall look is decent. I like its look. =============== FUNCTIONS =============== Although it has limited functions but all functions are great and help full. Time appears at top right of the screen. Signal strength is at left side of the screen and battery strength is at right and they are visible. Wallpapers are changeable and can be downloaded from internet or computer. Ring speaker is at right side but its polyphonic ring tones are not much better like Samsung c100, but some of them are amazing. Most of its features are like nokia 3100. It is very easy to operate even a child can operate it. Its main menu contain following things Messages Call register Phone book Profile Settings Alarm clock Gallery Organizer Games Applications Extras Connectivity Services Go to Company ========== MESSAGES ========== Its storage capacity is more it can store more then 100 SMS. And you can create the folder and can rename, delete and edit them. Copy past function is also available. It also has MMS and GPRS. But I never use it because in my country it is not available. Voice mail, e-mail, chat are also accessible. Writing message is easy and fast. You receive a delivery report after sending a message. You can change the font size of text messages. ============== CALL REGISTER ============== It enables you to know about missed calls, dialed calls and received calls. You can also see the call time and call durations. This function may vary with your Sim card. It also includes GPRS data counter and GPRS connection times which also lets you to reset timer and counter. ======= PHONE BOOK ============= You can store 500 numbers in you phone book. Groups can also be made and special rings can be assigned to them. You can send and copy past any contact. Very easy to save and edit any number. But negative thing is that it requires limited length of the name to be saved. ========= GALLERY ========= It is the most amazing feature of this set. It contains images, ring tones and songs that are loaded to your mobile. There are folders that contain data; you can also save your daily notes to these folders. By opening gallery services you can directed to internet for downloading more rings and wallpapers. It also tells the size of the folder. =========== ORGANISER =========== It contain calendar and to do list (Limited feature). There is no screen saver and voice recorder. ========== GAMES ========== WELL I am satisfied with its games. I have four games in my 6100 all are good nice. Games can be downloaded and deleted at any time. But games consume battery ===== APPLICATION =========== It contain convert and world clock. I it is also limited. Extra functions are given below 1-calculator 2-stop watch 3-wallet 4-countdown timer 5-clock 6-alarm Another interesting function is "go to" function. You can change the setting of left button to direct where to go. Call making and receiving are much easy. You can choose any key to answer. Its vibrator is more powerful. Battery time is good, I am not sure but I think it is more then two days with normal use. It is charged in about half an hour and charging system is good. =============== DISADVANTAGES =============== WELL overall the set is hard and not much sensitive but I found following disadvantages 1-Its keypad is hard, I changed it twice but it did not work out. 2-Its infrared can not send or receive data from other mobiles. 3-It has limited features. No sound composer, no radio and voice recorder 4-Polyphonic rigs are not much amazing.
