As soon as I held the Nokia 6111 in my hands, I knew it was something special. In fact, you can tell that from a mile away. The fact is, it's a great phone, with most of the features you'll ever need, but make sure you look at it often, because if you drop it from a reasonable height onto a hard surface, it may not survive.

When you switch the phone on, it flashes with several colours of lights and you hear the Nokia tune. This is probably normal for those of you who already own a Nokia phone, but this is only the beginning.
Slide open the phone and the number key are revealed, which light up instantly, making it easy for you to see in dim-litted places. Thoughtful little phone.

The buttons on the front are conveniently placed for your fingers and are easy to understand. Options are diplayed above the buttons for you to decide what you want to do. The screen is bright, sharp and large enough for you to be able to see photos, videos and text without too much eye strain. It's 262,144 display is sharp and colourful for the majority of phone users out there in my opinion.

Reception quality is good, but not crystal clear in my opinion, although this can also be affected by your service provider. Still clear enough to be able to understand what the other person is trying to say though. The Nokia 6111 contains many features of the average mobile phone and more. It has a megapixel camera, which is also capable of video capture. The quality of the photos are good, which are colourful and sharp, but still not digital camera standard. The video function works well and produces a reasonably good video quality. You can easily distinguish between what everything is in the video, but again, don't expect digital camera quality. But it's still handy to have these two functions close to hand, for when any interesting or important situations arise.

Furthermore, there is an FM radio which is incorperated into the headset that is bundled with the phone. The radio reception is quite clear and most ofm the major FM stations work. There is also internet capability on the phone, but there are extra charges, which you'll have to check on your service provider's website.

If you like music, a cable can be bought seperately to transfer files such as music, photos and videos to your mobile. There is a built MP3 player so you can listen to your music wherever you are. There is also a microphone option, so you can record any audio or voice messages that can be saved for later. Bluetooth is also built in, so it can interact with other bluetooth enabled mobile phones or devices such as computers or laptops, ideal for personal, travel and business use as well. Infa-Red is built in, but it is not as widely used.

Texting on the Nokia 6111 is simple and the keys work perfectly. All round, this is a great phone with plently of features. It is elegant and lightwight, which can be easily carried around in your pocket. It's bright screen and responsive buttons make it easy to use. It's also stylish too, so you can show off your phone in public and not be ashamed about it being an old pile of junk.

The only concern I have about the Nokia 6111 is about its sturdiness and durability. I've dropped it a couple of times, (luckily from a low height) and it immediately switched off, so I had to reinsert the SIM card. I'm worried that if I drop it from any higher distance, it might not survive. But if your careful ebought or carry it in a case, it should be fine.

Even though it has been out a while, it is still a superb, modern, up-to-date mobile phone. It can be bought on Pay as you go (PAYG) for around £50 (as of Christmas 2007) in Woolworths. This is a great phone for the price and would be a perfect gift to new phone owners or a person looking to upgrade their old phones. This phone won't disappoint!
