...recently upgraded from my previous Nokia 3210 to this phone, and I have to say I’m very pleased indeed. It’s the next step up from my last model, clearly, and a lot has been improved on. There has been a great deal of thought devoted to producing this model, and it shows. I’ll try to summarise the phone as best I can. (As some of you will know, I tend to do films and books on the whole, so reviewing phones is new to me – bear with me!)
...pretty standard (same as most Nokia models)
Dial Tones: NO COMPOSER! Bit of a pain if you like that kind of thing. Otherwise, there are 35 stock ring tones, all of varying degrees of awfulness. The good news is that the memory can hold up to five received tones, so you can get them sent to you. The phone has a vibrate setting, which is invaluable.
Games: I never got into the whole games thing, but for the game lover ... more
I would like to stress before I begin that this is really a phone intended for those in business: it has a lot of features designed with business use in mind. I won’t pretend that I use them all, but I will try to explain them as much as I can. This is a long op, so if you just want to know how good the phone is, skip to the last couple of paragraphs!

§ Looks § It’s slim, lightweight, about the size of a Twix, and generally quite conservatively coloured, usually grey or black or similar darker colours. Some people might not like the fact that you cannot change the fascias to crazy, funky designs; but I’m not at all bothered.
The screen is large and very high-resolution. The buttons are distinctive and easy to press, unlike on smaller phones. The only problem I had is that I was so used to the button and menu system on my old phone that I was pressing the wrong buttons to begin with; but you do get used to it very quickly.
§ Features § The usual suspects are all here: phone book, messages, various phone settings, dial tones, games, calculator, etc. In addition, there are more advanced (to me, anyway!) features, such as infrared, voice-dialing, WAP and a calendar.
Here’s what’s good.
Battery Life: Very good – up to a week or so stand-by, and about 2.5 hrs talk time. It’s a Lithium battery, which means you can charge it for half-hour bursts and it won’t ruin the battery’s performance. Fully charging it takes about 90 minutes.
Phone Book: in addition to your SIM memory, the phone itself has memory enough for 500 numbers. Very good. Also, you can group your phone book into friends, family, business, etc. Voice dialing is available on ten numbers; it does work fairly well, as long as you speak normally to it. It’s a show-off feature really, but very useful indeed in the car.
Messages: Again, the phone’s big memory means you can have up to 150 texts; you can also file them in different folders. There’s also an option to send the same message to multiple numbers: very useful if organising a night out with everyone! Predictive text is there too, if you like that feature.
Settings are all pretty standard (same as most Nokia models)
Dial Tones: NO COMPOSER! Bit of a pain if you like that kind of thing. Otherwise, there are 35 stock ring tones, all of varying degrees of awfulness. The good news is that the memory can hold up to five received tones, so you can get them sent to you. The phone has a vibrate setting, which is invaluable.
Games: I never got into the whole games thing, but for the game lover you have Snake II (which can be two-player through infrared link – quite cool!); Opposite (like reversi on the PC); and Pairs II (like the original Pairs, but with pretty pictures).
Infrared: as well as two-player Snake for all you big kids out there, this is handy for data transfer to computers. The phone comes with a CD with programs to sort this out. I don’t use it, but I’m sure if you’re a very busy person it could be very useful. The IR linkup means you can use the phone as a 28K modem, to check email on the move with a laptop.
Calendar: The most useful thing on the phone. Turns it into a mini organiser, and I love it. You can set reminders for meetings, to call friends (the number flashes up as well as the name), anything that’s going on in your life. Very, very useful.
WAP: I have to say I don’t see the point, but I’m probably just being small-minded. The only real use I can see is for traffic reports (which most phone networks have a number for anyway) or checking email. Nevertheless, WAP is on the phone if you’re into that sort of thing.
There are many, many other little perks to the phone that you discover the more you use it; but listing and describing them all would bore you silly. Suffice to say that the phone is packed with (mostly) useful, rather than gimmicky, features.
I’m afraid I’ve been rather long-winded, but I’ve tried to do the phone’s many advantages justice. I am very pleased with it, and would rate it as one of the best on the market for practicality and usefulness. Sure, it’s not the most stylish or sexy handset you’ll ever see, but if you’re not too fashion-conscious and want a clever, useful little phone, you could do far worse.
UPDATE: FAULT 11.10.01 Just a quick note. Yesterday Orange replaced my phone for me free of charge as it was faulty. Apparently this is a fault that has occurred a few times in this model: the keypad would crash completely and render the phone useless until it was reset by taking the battery off. Also, signal would be lost, inexplicably and completely, from the phone, both during calls and in standby. IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED EITHER OF THESE FAULTS IT WOULD BE WORTH YOUR WHILE REPORTING THEM; MY NEW PHONE WORKS FINE. Don't forget to write down the numbers saved in your phone's memory before it gets replaced: otherwise you'll only have your SIM numbers. Hope this nugget of info helps someone...
Advantages: long battery life, small, light, packed with features, easy and fun to use Disadvantages: crashes occasionally, slightly slow sometimes
...after owning a couple of Nokia 6110 phones for more than two years. This review is written from the perspective of upgrading from this phone, for when I am making comparisons. I have not owned anything but a Nokia but have used other people's and am convinced they are a clear market leader.
And this phone strengthens that. Plenty of advanced features, some of them similar to the 7110, such as the greatly enlarged and enhanced phonebook and the WAP ... ...buttons (I personally dislike the Nokia "Navi-key" phones with only the up/down and select/cancel buttons because you often have to go back out and through different menus to do things). Lots more ways of doing things are added, such as sending a message from the phone book or adding a phone number by just typing a number when a name is on the screen.
The memory is one of the greatest features - I always used to run out of space, both in the length ...

The screen is big, making it suitable for WAP, and its battery life being long, this phone is the ideal one for the professional user, being a marked step up from the 7110. ...terminating calls that the older Nokia phones used to have. This is a function sorely missed on the newer phones like the 3310 and 8210 and one that I welcomed openly. Additionally, the scroll up and down buttons are in the middle of the phone – a much more logical place. I preferred the feel of the buttons on the 3310 – the buttons on the 6210 stick out slightly further and I find myself mis-dialling quite often.

It’s great fun when you’re drunk – sending a text message suddenly turns into a game of Space Invaders. You also have the option to set profiles on your phone – so if you are going in to a meeting, for instance, you might choose ...

...as an upgrade from the Nokia 5146 - which I was already quite impressed with. Since I had been with one2one over 18 months they offered me an upgrade for £80. Better still was that Carphone Warehouse offered me £30 off that fee for trading in an old mobile that I had lying around (all you need is the phone charger and instruction booklet).
The phone is absolutely jam-packed with features. The most important features for me were the 500 name telephone ... ...the Nokia 7110 instead, since I got seduced by the Navi-Roller function, but I'm glad I didn't now. Several 7110 owners have begged me to swap my phone for theirs and I have refused.

Advantages: Sat Nav Disadvantages: battery life is very short
I have been using this phone for about 4 weeks and absolutely love it! I am an experienced Nokia user and found getting used to this phone very easy and quick (my last phone was a N73).
This phone has all the features that I need, ie phone, text, Internet (limited), basic sat nav, camera, video, radio, Mp3
Getting Started:
Let's start with saving contacts and personalising the phone. I use the PC back up system Nokia PC Suite and transferred all my data (contacts, messages, photos, videos, mp3 files, calendar entries) extremely quick and easy. Within 5 minutes I had everything set up.
General usage:
If you are already a Nokia user, you will find it very easy and logical to find all phone features. The same goes for users new to the brand, all features in the main menue are self-explanatory and easy to find.
The phone slides ...
Advantages: Very good sound reproduction, always set up ready for use. Disadvantages: Needs an external anrenna, plus fitting. Dated nowadays.
I recognise this, I very nearly bought one a while ago. I had a "play" with one, and I priced it up, and it was a lot more expensive then. I am surprised nobody has done a review yet, but as Ciao has allowed anyone to do just that, ever since they were introduced in 2005, so I will oblige.
Let me just tell you exactly what this kit does.
It holds your Nokia phone securely in your car, van, truck, to your dashboard or wherever you like.
It trickle charges your mobile battery.
It provides a mike and proper speaker, both separate to, and better than, the mobile phone's original ones.
This particular kit is specific to the following models:-
Nokia 6310i, Nokia 6310, Nokia6210, Nokia 6110, Nokia 6150
Other kits are based on this, and can be found for many other mobile phones.
Yes I must admit this kit is a little out of date ...

Manufacturer's product description
Nokia has loaded 6210 with a great amount of functions that allow you to take the full advantages of the mobile connection. This mobile phone features high-resolution, illuminated, full-graphics dynamic display, high-speed data communication, extended calendar, harmonious design, and long lasting power. 6210 is the first Nokia phone to support HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switched Data), so you can reach up to 4 times faster GSM data connections. With Nokia 6210 you can now connect at speeds of up to 43.2 kbps using HSCSD, if supported by the network operator and Internet service provider. That means sending emails, faxes, or browsing the Internet just became easier and faster. This high download speed also makes video streaming possible. With the in-built WAP browser, you can have 24-hours access to mobile Internet services in your pocket. You can also use the phone as a high-speed wireless modem with your compatible PC, so you can do your banking, book tickets, check the news or send emails when and where you feel like it.Nokia 6210 gives you more mobility because it simplifies your life. When you leave home or the office, you don't have to remember to take along your calendar. It is already inside the phone. And you won't need to carry any cables, because you can synchronize data with your compatible PC using the infrared port. At first sight Nokia 6210 communicates something to you. Its sleek, ergonomic styling tells you at once that this is another classic Nokia design. The phone's tapered shape and perfect size make it comfortable and functional to use. With its large display, internal antenna, side volume keys and chameleon colors, Nokia 6210 is both a pleasure to look at and a joy to use. With the extended battery power offered by Nokia 6210, you won't always need to carry the charger around with you wherever you go. The standard battery will standby for up to ten days and give up to 4 hours 30 minutes of talk time, while the extended battery offers up to 2,5 weeks standby time, and an incredible 7 hours of talk time. You can also play Snake II as a 2-player game via the IR port of your phone with a person who has the same game on a compatible phone.
