I am really pleased that I took the advice of the sales consultant in Carphone Wharehouse and bought a Nokia 6210. I had previously been using a Siemens C35i but found it too small and that it had too short a battery life for my liking. I realise that there are several new flashier phones around now but the 6210 suits my purposes apart from one aspect, I find it difficult to turn on and off because the on-off switch is situated at the top of the phone and is quite small. It is also difficult to access if you have a leather case to protect your phone.
The Nokia 6210 is really easy to use, much easier in my opinion than anything in the Siemens, Sagem or Ericsson range in my experience. The display panel is large and clear and the selection keys and scroll keys are logical and straightforward to use. The sound quality is excellent and I like the fact that you can store an amazing 500 different names in your phonebook.
Although it is larger than many of the handsets on the market these days, it is slim and lightweight and much, much easier to use than fiddling around with a tiny keypad. The 6210 has some other useful features such as voice dialing, a calculator useful for converting those euros, a WAP connection and my daughter has shown me how easy it is to send text messages. I use this phone with BT Cellnet on a prepay deal where I paid £99 for two years worth of line rental and allows me approximately £5 worth of calls free each month.
