I had one of these as my last phone which I have just replaced with a newer more updated model of Nokia. Throughout the time I had my 6230i I loved it, it was reliable, durable and I never had a single problem with it for well over a year. I dropped it millions of times and still it never broke apart from the case scratching. It was easy to use and understand and had lots of features and settings that I found useful and fun which made me definitely want another Nokia after this model
About the 6230i Features
It has lots of different features including *1.3 mega-pixel camera with 3 x
digital zoom, I found this camera brilliant for a phone camera and took many pictures with it, it had a night mode which helped make pictures a better quality in the dark all those these weren't brilliant. Pictures were easy to send via Bluetooth or send across to a computer. It also has a video feature with this that takes videos of average quality that is ideal for when you want a video on that moment but don't have any other means of getting one. All though it is not amazing quality I still think it is a really good feature
High resolution display with animated 3D main menus, these added to the brilliant looks of the phone giving it a modern feel, also being able to change the displays was brilliant being able to personalise your phone to suit you.
Stereo music player MP3/AAC/M4A, I never really used this feature but on the occasions I did I found it easy to use and stored and played music really well with good sound quality for a phone of its age.
*xHTML/HTML browser, I have used this a lot for the internet it's not bad but quite hard to use on a small Nokia screen with quite small buttons but ideal for looking up the odd thing whilst out and your phone is the handy thing to use for this*Tri-band, I have never used this but it would be good if you were going anywhere within Europe
*Push to Talk, never used this but it's a subscribed thing a bit like a walkie talkie I have heard that this doesn't work that well but haven't used this feature myself to find out.
*Visual Radio, never used this either but it works just like a normal radio but is displayed on the screen.
*Integrated Hands free Speaker, used this a lot ideal if your doing something else and are on the phone at the same time, I can be a little harder to hear but at the press of a button you can be using hand free speaker.
*Bluetooth wireless technology, I also used this a lot it's brilliant for sending files such as pictures and videos to other peoples phones that have Bluetooth or to a computer to edit files and upload them to the internet. ==What it Comes With==
I purchased mine originally from Carphone Warehouse and it came with the handset, battery, a charger, user guide, CD ROM, Multi-media card and a headset. I was also given the option at the time of purchase to buy insurance to cover any damages to the phone or repairs it might need that aren't covered by the manufacturers warranty. Also any accessories that I might want such as an in car charger were shown to me.
A Bit More About It
I found this phone to have brilliant battery life lasting days before needing charging if it was charged fully each time. It worked really well and I nearly always had a good signal using o2 service provider. The user manual/instruction book was easy to understand and gave useful information and tips on how to use all the phones features and what they do and how they can improve the phone to suit you. The phone itself is easy to use and understand being based just like any other Nokia with buttons not to small, and menus easy to go through and work out. It weights only 99grams so is light and easy to carry around fitting into a pocket easily. It also is a very stylish looking phone with the traditional none flip button/screen fronted look. My model is the silver/grey model with stylish silver buttons with grey outlining making it look modern and subtle.
Prices & Availability
It is quite hard to find this phone now as it is quite old but they can be bought second hand/used for around £60 from phone shops that sell used or re-conned phones, it may also be available on internet sites such as eBay. This phone is definitely good value for money for the price it can be bought for now. It is also possible to un-lock these phones so they can be used on the network of your choice unlike some of the newer phones which are really hard to get un-locked.
Recommendation
I would definitely recommend this phone all though now other better phones are available as an upgrade if you are looking for a cheap phone or maybe a second phone consider the 6230i as this would be ideal.
