I got my new Nokia 6300 just over a month ago so I feel its enough time of using it to write a review.

I had been due an upgrade of my phone but hadn't really seen anything I fancied until I saw someone who had this phone and I really like the design of it. I've had Nokia's for years (my last one was the 6230i) and so am able to find my way around them. I rang Vodafone and they said I could have it free on upgrade and so I jumped at it.

**The design **

I think the phone looks really slick. The dimensions are aprx 10.5cm x 4.5cm x 1.5cm. The screen is 4.5cm x 3.5cm. The top part of the phone (3/4 of it) is black which has the screen in it and 5 keys to make call and access the menu. The number keys at the bottom are silver and flat.

It was easy to put the sim and battery in, and the back cover came off much easier than my last one (I was thinking I was never going to get my sim out of the old phone!). It also came with a memory card.

The weight is 91g.

**Features**

2 megapixel camera. You can access it easily via the quick "Go to menu" button when in standby. You can use it to take normal pictures and video. The picture quality is really good and clear when taking pictures, but not brilliant for videos but as I don't use this function very often it doesn't bother me.

Radio. Again can be accessed quickly via the go to menu. You have to have the headset attached for this to work, I believe this is because the Ariel is built into them. I get good clear sound from the radio but it hasn't found the stations I listen to most often, like Radio One.

Music Player. You can play any tunes you have added to the phone through this with out without the headset. The sound is of a good quality.

Games. It comes with 3 games. Snake 3 - wow this has come a long way, now in 3D!! Soccer 3D - footballs not my thing so haven't played. Sudoku2 - This is quite good, but easy is soo easy!

Other features: Alarm clock, calendar, calculator, stopwatch, voice recorder, flight mode, tri-band.

**Use**

I said previously I have had Nokia's for years so am used to the menu set up and getting around the phone. I think even if you had never used a Nokia before you would find it easy to do the basics as everything is clearly labelled in the main menu - ie. Contacts, gallery, messaging etc.

When I first got the phone it was set up with a toolbar type navigation/menu across the top of the screen. Some people may find this useful for quick access to functions they use often, but as you have only to press the top left button to get a quick menu ("got to") up, or, for example, press the menu button left to get access to a new text message, I didn't find this helpful and I didn't like it encroaching on my wallpaper. I took this off which was easy to do.

Making a call is as simple as all phones and I get good clear quality when talking.

The only thing I don't like about this phone is that I need a code to reset my message counter, which I didn't need on my old phone and I don't know my code (can anyone help me out here? Have tried 4 0's!).

**Price**

I got mine free on an upgrade which is brilliant. I have had a look and you can get them on Ebay for around £100. If you take out a new contract you can probably get it free and for around £120 as a pay as you go.

**Conclusion**

So far I have found this phone really good and have had no problems and can't think of any disadvantages to it. To be fair I do only use my phone for making/receiving calls and texts and taking the odd photo so I don't need my phone to do anything fancy.

If you like Nokias or even if you haven't tried one before then I would highly recommend this phone.
