Connectivity The phone comes with all the latest methods of connecting to other devices. The infrared port, not very good for connecting directly to another mobile phone but good if you have a computer with infrared and use the
nokia suite to transfer files on to the memory card.
You can also connect the phone up to a pc with infrared using the phones modem, this gives you the options for full internet access using your phone but is very slow, wap connects at around 9.6k.
Bluetooth is also inbuilt in to the phone, this is the more preferred method of transferring files from one mobile phone to another, also you can play snake 2 with someone who has the same phone over bluetooth.
Its a shame there arnt many games that you can play over bluetooth with as i think they would be very popular. Having played mini golf using the sony erricson T610 over bluetooth I found that the game crashed quite a lot but was a lot of fun. The nokia bluetooth software is much more reliable and would be good for this type of game
The only method you can't connect is through usb which is no big deal.
Applications Unfortunately this phone doesnt come with some applications that you would have expected it to come with. It doesnt come with a countdown timer or a stopwatch which most nokia phones do come with. You have to make sure that after you have finished using an appication that you close it down properly using the menu system, if you use the red button on the right of the phone the application is still running in the background and hasnt been closed properly, hold the blue button down on the left of the phone to see what applications are running, the more applications running the slower the phone will become.
A couple of good applications to get hold of include: UltraMP3, the phone doesnt play mp3s by default so this is a must if you want to listen to songs on the phone.
Goboy, gameboy emulator, very fast, you have to pay extra for sound but it isnt worth paying for, download any gameboy or gameboy colour rom and you can play it on the goboy emulator - a must have.
Video - When taking video footage the phone will only capture for up to around 10 seconds which is pretty poor considering you have 32 MB memory card which could hold a lot of footage.
You can download a stopwatch, an egg timer and a few other good applications and java games.
Performance Can be slow when you get used to using the phone, not as bad as the sony erricson T610 though.
Ease of use Very easy to use, navigation can be customised and there is a lot of things you can do with this phone. You will find new things to do even after having the phone for a few months.
You have to remove the phone cover and battery before you can insert or remove the memory card, this means that you have to keep switching the phone off which can be a bit annoying, would have been better with a card slot on the side of the phone.
Text messaging was what I mainly bought a nokia phone for, you can only fault the buttons, they seem a little close together for a mans hand but the predictive text is excellent compared to the Sony Erricson T610 and you dont have to worry about how long the message is as the phone will just send it in parts.
Summary Excellent phone, not too big to make a big issue out of, good features and there's a lot applications out there which will enhance the phone. Excellent for texting, good quality photos and all the latest methods of connectivity. Well worth a look at and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a new phone.
