I have owned a Nokia 6680 almost from when they first came out in 2005 - on 3 network, which, at that time was the best 3G network. I've stuck with both 3 and this phone ever since. With 3 because they allow me to make genuinely cheap calls in Australia, where I visit regularly to see my daughters, and with the Nokia 6680 because it does all I ask for in a phone :) I bought a cheap neoprene cover for it immediately and I would recommend that you do so too. Though I have dropped the phonea few times and it has certainly been rained upon regularly, it has, to date, suffered no apparent damage. The quality of both the reception and sound are both good, even in poor reception areas; the keys are large enough and have a good enough 'feel' to be easily useable by a man with normal sized fingers; the battery life is (still) excellent - between 5 and 7 days on standby and several hours of calls - though in poor reception areas these numbers drop considerably, of course.
By modern standards the screen is not excellent, but it is certainly more than adequate for text and SMS photos, whilst the main camera (1.3mp) is equally superceded by modern offerings. I cannot comment on the front-facing video camera as I rgard that as a gimmic. In truth, the quality of the still images is NOT great - the colour balance is poor, with far too much green/blue and too little red/yellow making extensive use of PhotoShop necessary before any pictures can be used! OTOH, it can certainly be used to copy the occasional A4 document with ease and it's OK for 'fun' portraits or emergency use.
The Nokia menu is one you either love or hate. I've only ever had Nokia phones, so I am now used to it, and it works well enough for me, but it is not very intuitive and the nesting of some items is complex and therefore slow to access. You can set the phone up to allow instant access to any two features in addition to the main phone, simply by pressing the arrow keys just below the screen. One is, by default, texting and I imagine few would change that; the other I have set to calendar, but you can choose any function you like.
You can also alter most other parameters on the phone too - ring tone, volume, vibrate, reception mode etc and it comes with a decent memory card too, so that you can easily store 300+ messages on it. With Bluetooth and IR connections as well as cable you can easily syncronise your phone number database with your PC (an essential back-up).
Drawbacks? Well, it was an early attempt to be a PDA as well as a phone, and in that respect it (largely) fails. Yes, you CAN email, write office documents etc, on it but it is so painfully slow that I cannot imagine anyone doing that except in a real emergency. It is also rather larger and a litle heavier than more modern phones - both you DO get decent sized keys - and you can rarely have everything!
So, in summary, a great triband phone that can be used throughout most of the world (NOT Central and South America), with a long battery life, good reception and phone quality, decent customisable features, an average camera and build quality making it both durable and reliable.
Well worth the 'free' it costs on most networks and the £50 (S/H) to £80 (new) they sell for on ebay.
As for '3' network ...........no way would I use it again!
Advantages: Screen, Ease of use, Battery life Disadvantages: Video camera, Memory
I have had my Nokia now for just over four months now, I wanted it since I first saw it upon its release back in May last year. I was attracted by its sleek, slender design. You can get it in black or silver, I recently had broke a key and I was unable to replace the keypad so I had to buy a whole new face they had the face available in red, black and silver, although silver is the most popular colour it seems. It comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera ... ...I would recommend this phone to anyone, the battery life is excellent and design is stylish and available to both men and women available in various colours with multiple accessories. Nokia is a very good brand which can be trusted and you won't be disappointed with this phone. ...

Advantages: Dual cameras, video call enabled, stereo sound Disadvantages: Poor battery life, easy to mistype keys and chrome keys get dirty easily
...be a big fan of Nokia phones. In fact at one time I would buy nothing else.
I like the sleek candybar phones they used to churn out and to be honest the phones did the job. I could make calls. I could text. I could play snake...oh how times have changed.
We now live in a 3g world. We can make video calls, send video messages and download highlights of footie matches just after they've finished. I for one don't want to go back...
And yeah poor ... ...I couldnt even get a Nokia handset for the first two years...as Nokia didnt produce 3g handsets.
However they have slowly caught up and have started trying to meet market demand.
My mate recently bought the Nokia 6680 - the second of their 3g offerings. In fact it could be said to be a reworked version of the 6630 since both are so similar.
However the 6680 has one big advantage over the 6630 in that its Nokia's first dual video camera capable ...

Advantages: 1.3MP camera takes decent pics, Screen quality is excellent Disadvantages: It's, um, beige/gold if you buy it on Orange (picky I know)
...I have now had the Nokia 6680 mobile phone for 11 months, and I am coming up to an upgrade, so I thought I would add my comments on almost a year of using it. When I first received the handset I was very impressed with it. The screen quality is stunning, which means all your pictures and videos look great. It's also got two cameras which makes video calling easy. It's not too big or chunky (compared to the 6600 I had before), and the shutter to protect ... ...screen saver back to the Nokia clock, and the theme back to the discreet blue, which really shows off the quality screen. What is a little less easy to get rid of though is the Orange homescreen. This fires up after the phone has booted, so you get a grey screen with "LOADING..." on it while the phone loads the unnecessary software. This isn't too difficult to get rid of. There is an application called HSKILLER which forces it to run in the background, ...

Advantages: 3G phone and smartphone at the sametime Disadvantages: quite big, bulky
...battery life, like the other nokia phones. I use my phone quite a lot as in different functions, and it lasts me around 3 to 4 days. MEMORY: This phone takes MMC Card which you can buy from any electronic shops nowadays. Also, you can put the memory card without means of taking out the battery which is really good. it is situated at the side of the phone. However, i always find diffculty to open the memory card slot. GAMES: What you get is CArd Deck ... ...not stuck with the old nokia tunes. ETC: The reception is not great since this phone is on 3 which is not a great service for rception . Also, the phone is very strong and you don't need to worry about it whenever you drop the phone because it doesn't break! The keypad is quite small so people with think hands might have difficulty when texting however, you get use to it very quickly. Also, i have installed the antivirus program on to my phone so ...

Advantages: Does what a mobile phone was always supposed to do...and more besides Disadvantages: Not quite as flashy as some phones...so friends won't be impressed at first glance
...is my considered opinion that Nokia make the best phones. I have always found them reliable, user friendly and extremely resillient to damage. In fact, other than by submerging the thing in liquid I would have to say that it is almost impossible to destroy a Nokia handset.
Another thing that is important about me is that I have always been a 'pay as you go' person. I don't believe in spending money I don't have. That's why I am 22 and have never ... ...guessed it, Nokia.
NOKIA 6680
The first thing I noticed about this phone when it arrived was that it was a lot bigger than I was expecting. In an age where everything from mobile phones to music players seem to be getting smaller, it was surprising, and a little bit alarming, to see something so big professing to be brand new. At first I thought I had been shafted and that this was a phone that I could only really dream of using as a doorstop.

Advantages: small durable and userfriendly Disadvantages: software crashes
....
Nokia SA had their hands full with the N70 crisis, never the less the phone is a nifty little one, the handsets that did not give any problems are probably one of the best handsets produced by Nokia after the launch of the Nokia6680 and before the Nokia E series handsets.
Capability of the Nokia N70 is great, and the durability was not a disappointing factor as we all know, Nokia is one of the most durable phones on the market. If the handset falls pick it up put it back together( if it did fall apart) and the chances are that it will still be working fine.
Hint of advise if you do consider or decide that you want a Nokia N70 go for it, but to be safe take it for a software update, just to be safe.
