Over the years of owning a number of mobiles ranging from Motorola, Samsung, Philips, Sony Ericsson and Nokia I have generally preferred Nokia, mainly beacuse of the simplicity of the S40 user interface, which is very user friendly and simple in approach. The main points about the Nokia 6700 classic in my opinion are listed below:
Good Points It feels solid and robust owing to its slender design and stainless steel construction. The kepad is easy to ease, so too is the navigation button. The built in GPS receiver and maps are really useful when out shopping or navigating around a new city. Battery life on standby is brilliant; I leave it switched on and recharged it recently after 2 weeks of operation with several calls and text mesage usage. ( the spec says 414 hours or 17.25 days in standby mode). Quad band covers trips to the USA and Europe which is very useful. HSPA can mean very fast dowload speeds for data web browsing. Bluetooth for headsets and file transfers to laptops or PDAs is always beneficial. Syncronisation with my PC calendar appointemnts improves versatility when out of the office. I always use hands free speakerphone as it lessens the radiation risk. Can use Instant messaging and windows live - good for keeping in contact. The 640 * 480 video recoding (in mp4 and mpeg4 file formats) is a very useful function for sports events etc, and is only limited by the micro SD card size (max of 8 Gbyte) 5 megapixel camera with flash is quite functionable and passable photos in good lighting. Fm stereo radio - when bored with everything else. The display can be seen in bright light conditions.
Negative Points TFT display of 2.2 inches; 320 x 240 pixels is small for mapping purposes and web browsing but good as a mobile phone interface for SMS etc. Lack of Wi-fi for hot spot usage. Poor photos in poor light conditions and videos only 15 frames per second make for jerky viewing (quite common with mobile phone cameras)
Overall, I like this phone, the build quality is top notch and so far it has been very relaible operation, no software crashes and nice use of selectable widgets for the homepage. The 10.2 Mbps HSPA speed is exceptional, although in the UK we cannot currently make use of the speed. Email is also easy to set up. The biggest dislike is the lack of wi-fi.
