The punchline for Honda's advert for the new Accord when first launched was "isn't it nice when something just works". As an owner of both a new model Honda Accord and a Nokia 7110 mobile telephone, I know which one that statement better refers to and, very sorry Honda, but it is not the Japanese...

Right here we go I am going to babble on about a phone this time ladies and gentlemen. The Nokia 7110 is a cool phone but for the detailed and funny side to this handset see below. What can the phone do exactly? I do ask myself this question every time I go to pick it up and call someone. 1) Text...

ConsBuild quality awful.

It's about a year since I bought my first 7110, and I loved it. It was a fairly new phone then, and not many people had them. It was well built, but suffered from a few software faults that would cause it to lock up every so often, requiring you to remove the battery and shove a new one on. So, I...

ConsWAP software, hype, generally overrated

WAP was, and probably still is, the major selling point of the 7110. But I think it was here Nokia, unusually for them, went wrong. I think Nokia got caught up in the great WAP rush of 2000, and released a phone that wasn't really up to being released. The first batch had massive software...

ConsSlide breaking, large phone

This phone is tooooo over-rated. The slide usually breaks after a month of use. The WAP function is slow to use. The games are a good part of the phone. I feel that voice-dialling function should have been added on the phone. The screen is large, this is good for the WAP function. The dual-tone...

I got my Nokia 7110 a few weeks ago and I have loved it to pieces right from the very beginning. It has sooooo many features I was absolutely gob-smacked - a rare occasion -when I first began exploring! To be honest there isn't really too much missing. I normally go for personality rather than...

Originally I purchased a 7110 as I work out of the country, and wanted to use WAP to communicate with my email server. This has proved not to be possible, with UK WAP unaccessible from the continent (analogue is possible, but very slow), and the only decent WAP service in my country of work...

My Nokia 7110 is the second mobile phone that I have owned having very quickly outgrown the first model that I had (a Motorola c520). I knew that I was beginning to demand more from my phone and although I wanted one that was rich in features I also required that it be uncomplicated and easy to...

Consa bit big

I have just bought the Nokia 7110 about a week ago. The main reason around my choice was the fact it was featured in the matrix, although the for sale model is altered and slightly smaller than Keanu Reev's. You can get this phone for around £50 if you are willing to look aroung and get mobile...

Using vouchers from iPoints, etc. we managed to get the Nokia 7110 for £40 instead of the usual £150, from The Link on a BT Cellnet Pay-as-you-go option. I had been looking for a phone that offered several options including calendar reminders and Internet access (ie. E-mail). The idea is that the...

To be honest there isn't much point in writing a review on such an old phone , because a.) it is now unavailable, and b.) it is not cool anymore because it has no polyphonic ring tones , wallpapers, camera, gprs, colour screen , etc, etc. But the reason I would like to write probably, the last...

I bought the Nokia 7110 about 8 months ago for £50 on a Vodafone tariff from the CarphoneWareHouse website, and I have to say I've been impressed with it. It offers many functions, if very gimmicky!, which should be of much use to most people. GENERAL LOOK: The look is very smart indeed with a...

Product Information : Nokia 7110

Manufacturer's product description

Nokia 7110, the first true media phone, lets you access services and text information over the Internet. With this phone, you have the world of information at your fingertips. In Nokia 7110, the Internet meets the cellular network. Global information meets individual choice and movement. And that creates a whole new set of requirements for a mobile phone. Nokia 7110 phone lets you send e-mail and receive information and services. This phone works in both GSM 900 and GSM 1800 networks. It automatically uses the network with the strongest signal, and switches networks even during a call within the same operator's network. So you get a more reliable connection, fewer dropped calls, and fewer "Network busy" messages. Many of the most important new features of Nokia 7110 - large display, microbrowser, Navi Roller, predictive text input - were developed to make it faster and easier to access services available over the Internet using a mobile phone. Roll and scroll with the Navi Roller. It is a bit like using a mouse to select items from an application menu, or like the up and down arrows on a mobile phone. Except that it is smarter, that makes it faster. To select a function or a name from memory, scroll with the Navi Roller and click to select. Since it is smart, the Navi Roller knows what to do in each situation when you click - select, save, or send. When they try it, most people say that the Navi Roller makes Nokia 7110 a lot faster and easier to use. The design speaks for itself, but one feature deserves special mention: the slide. Press the trigger and the slide snaps open. The slide protects the keypad when you are not using the phone. Snap it open to answer a call and click it closed to hang up. Also just for fun are the chameleon-like colors: when you look at the phone from different angles and in different lighting conditions, the colors changes.
