    Nokia 7250i-the good, the...

I decided to upgrade my new phone, the old Nokia 3330 at Christmas. After telling my parents I wanted a new one, they bought me a Nokia 7250i. At first I was obviously delighted, but was knocked somewhat by my friend stating it was, in all truths, 'rubbish'. However, I begged to differ.
Below, I have written a review on how I personally view the phone, and not all the confusing technical stuff!

Design:

Pros:
Overall, the design is good. It isn't as flashy as some of the more expensive phones, but it is small and compact. The buttons are easy to use, although I would warn people with large hands and fingers it may annoy them a little.
It is very light and compact, which is very handy as you can fit it in your bag when you go out, or in your pocket.
It also has a good colour screen, with the option of changing the colour of the lettering and display.
There are removable fascias for the phone, which I find a big advantage because if you get scratches on your cover, you can easily change and it is not too expensive as they are available from local markets.
The overall layout of the phone is very good.

Cons;
One annoying feature of this phone, is that the back, I find is hard to undo, if you want to get the battery or sim card. However, many of my friends have managed to do it with ease, so it is probably me!!!!
The screen is relatively small, but that is comparing them to the new phones such as the Nokia 7610

Overall, I give the actual design of the phone a 7/10

Battery life:

Pros
I think this is one very big advantage of the 7250i, I find that it lasts for a very long time and only takes around 2 hours for mien to fully charge, if not less time!
Overall, I give this a 10/10; I do not find anything wrong with the battery life!

Overall, I give the batter life a 10/10!

Now to the most important bit, the features!

The Nokia 7250i has many features, so I will talk about them individually;

One handy little feature is the 'Go to' button. This enables you to get to your most used feature of the phone, such as messaging or radio, quickly.

Caller id:

This allows me to take a picture of someone in my phonebook and putting their picture with their number, so that if they ring me, I can see straight away who it is. Although you can still see who the caller is through writing, I find this must easier and more fun, as you can put whatever picture of them you want!

Radio:

Pros:
Once I found out this phone had a radio, I was really pleased. However, I did not realise that new phones now had mp3 players. But the prices of those phones are usually much more than that of the 7250i.

Actually having a radio to listen to means you don't necessarily have to take both your phone and something to listen to music on, a benefit especially if you have a very small bag or none at all!

The quality of the radio is good and a big advantage is that you can save the settings for channels and name them. It stores up to 20 of these, so you do not have top bother finding your favourite channels!

Cons:
At first, it took me a long-time to figure out how to fit the headset to the phone, but after being shown, it was easy from then on. Although I am sure you can buy a set of earphone for the 7250i, mine only game with a headset that had one earphone. This means that the music is not that loud and is slightly annoying as you can hear other things happening around you.

Overall, I give the radio an 7/10

WAP GPRS-A handy little feature.
The 7250i has WAP connectivity, which means you can view the 'mobile internet'.
Pros:
Although it is not as varied and full as the proper computer internet, it is still handy if you want to find something quickly, such as what time a film is on at your local cinema. It has quite a fast connection as well.

Cons;
The pages are hard to filter through and some of the pages that load take a long-time.
Compared to newer phones, the WAP is not of the best quality out there, but still is handy for a brief look. I would recommend someone who used WAP a lot to possibly not buy this phone as they could get a better quality of WAP service. But for me, I do not use it too often and find it handy if I do need it.

Overall, I give it a 6/10.

Camera!

Pros:
The camera is very easy to use and is actually built into the phone, so is not an attachment one. There are various options:
·Standard photos- meaning just you usual camera photo
·Night mode-useful as it allows you to take a better picture in the dark, although obviously not in the pitch dark
·Self-timer- meaning you can set a time up so that the phone does not take the photo straight away. This is particularly useful if you want a picture that includes you!

The quality of the camera is okay. Too be honest, I do not use my camera as much as I thought I would. At first, I used it nearly all the time, probably because it was my first phone with a camera, but after about a month, I began to use it less and less.

Cons-
The quality of the photos is not the best and the picture is not very sharp. Compared to many other phones out there, its camera is poor. Also, many phones now have a video capability, which the 7250i does not have.

However, as I said before, if you are not particularly bothered about having absolutely brilliant and excellent quality photos, then it is fine.

Overall I give the camera a 6/10, its easy to use but the quality is not the best

Messaging

Pros;
The 7250i has both multimedia and text messages. Messaging is very easy to sue and it has the option of both predicted and non-predicted text, which is an advantage.
Cons-
One small con is that the letters are small and so it may be hard for some people to read, but I find it fine.

Overall, I give it 8/10

Infrared-
The 7250i has infra red, which enables you to swap information with other phones, which have infra red, which saves credit, as you do not have to text them pictures etc. Also, it allows you to send pictures to and from some computers, but I have yet found one that you can do this with.

Gallery and photos:

Pros;
A good point about the 7250i is that you can edit the pictures, such as end in moustaches! You can also zoom in. There is also the option of setting up a variety of folders to keep your pictures in.

Cons;
Although there is the option of editing pictures, there are not that many options available and can get boring.

Overall, I give it a 7/10

Games:

Pros-
The 7250i comes with two games, triple pop and bounce. These games are quite good, although involve a lot of patience.
Bounce consists of getting a ball through a series of mazes, by 'bouncing'! It does get addictive, but does take a while to get use to.
Triple pop consists of floating coloured balls, which attach tin the centre. The object of the game is to attach the balls onto other balls of the same colour. For example, three red balls connected make them disappear.
There is also the ability to download games from the Nokia website on WAP. Through this, I have downloaded the old, but updated version of Snake two. This is now in colour, which makes it more enjoyable.

Cons-
It would have been better with more games, but many other phones have either none or worst games.

Overall, I give the games a 6/10.

Calendar.

Pros-
Actually having a calendar is a good point as it means you do not have to necessarily take a diary around, as there are the options of:
· Reminder
· Meeting
· Call
· Birthday
· Memo
You can add a time and an option of a noise to warn you.
The calendar is easy to use and to see.
There is also an option of an alarm, but this sound gets VERY annoying. Yet, it does the job and gets you up!

Cons-
The noise is somewhat annoying, but at least it gets your attention!

Overall, I give the calendar an 8/10.

The Nokia 7250i also has other features such as:
· Calculator
· Countdown timer,
These are both easy to use and although I do not sue these that often, they are handy.

Overall, I rate the Nokia 7250i as a 7/10.
For me, it does the job. I do not want a phone to take amazing pictures with, or to search the WAP GPRS. You can find these phones for a reasonably price, especially on Ebay and although you can get better newer phones, for the price, the 7250i is wroth it!

    Lots of well laid-out info so its easy to read and understand. I think your review is great but after my last experience of Nokia (the battery had to be replaced three times- once because it completely died and wouldn't charge!) i'll stick to sony erricssons or samsungs!
