The Ugliest Phone Ever? 18 of 18 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages It worked

Disadvantages Read on...

During the almost two years that I was stuck with this phone due to a horribly restrictive imprisonment contract with the odious 3 network, I complained about it all the time. After all it is one of the weirdest-looking mobile phones in history, and extremely difficult to use at first - try sending a text at even half the speed that you usually do, operating the linear columns of number keys.

But - and I never thought I'd say this - I actually miss it these days. Perhaps I am going soft in the head; perhaps I have simply forgotten the poor battery life, lack of features, unpredictable software, and all round weirdness of this curious, long-since outdated, labia-shaped monstrosity, but we had fun my old 7600 and me. I was able to cram a whole 5 songs onto the tiny 32MB memory and still have enough room for the marvellous Alpha Wing and Speedball 2video games. It was the first colour-screened phone I owned. The camera by today's standards was barely passable, but back then it took pictures and that was enough. It made and received calls. It kept on working for two years. And believe it or not, I have owned worse phones since. Don't get me started on the pathetic Nokia 6131. If I ever write a review saying anything nice about that phone then you know I have finally cracked.

The buttons were second nature to me after a while and I soon got into the habit of charging it up every night to ensure that it would work for at least the first half of the next day. I have owned vastly superior phones since - the Sony Ericsson W850i for example, which trounces it in every single department (with the possible exception of resemblance to female genitalia) - but I will always view with a certain fond nostalgia the days when the ugly old 7600 and I embarked on the great voyage of mobile phone discovery together.

In some ways this review is pointless as no one is going to get one of these things these days. This review is nothing more than a tribute to an old phone to which I would like to make an official apology. You were alright really. Rest In Peace. x

I've not seen or heard of this, but it does look weird! I normally like weird things, but this sounds a bit too user-unfriendly? I'm still happy with my old XDA Exec - even though it's big for a phone, I like that it's also sort of a tiny laptop. Good funny review!
