By now everyone should have seen the 7650. It?s the new nokia phone with the digital camera and the media messaging that is being heavily advertised, but is it any good and more importantly is it worth the heavy price? (About £200 on contract). O2 last month chose me to participate in some market research by giving 5 friends and me these phones for free so that they could get their hands on my opinion and judge for themselves and here it is. The phone itself is larger than any of the latest phone and is about the size of the Nokia 3210, although less heavy. At first going from an 8310 to a 7650 it seems heavy but after a couple of weeks of use it just seems the same. The size is understandable when you have a glance through the phone?s menu and have a look at the features. Firstly it has a very well lit, colour screen that is around 50% larger than other mobile phone screens then there is a hidden keypad, which slides out when needed and lastly on the reverse, covered by the keypad is a digital camera. To navigate through the menu?s there?s a clever little joystick under the screen that saves you having to take out the keypad most of the time too. Overall the phone fits better into the hand than the smaller phones and is well-shaped and comfy to hold. When you look through the menu you will find a large capacity contacts book with options of keeping several numbers and contact info about each person, allowing multiple fax, phone, mobile and email numbers as well as address?s, birthdays and notes. Then there?s a log option listing every use of the phone, detailing messages sent, received, calls missed, received and made. Next there?s the messages option, allowing you to send standard SMS messages, although easier to use and more organised than any other phone I?ve seen. In the messages option you could also send an email or send a MMS (multi media message) which is like a text message except with the option of attaching digital photo?s and recordings too. This is being touted as the latest thing but its quite pricey as the cost of just one message is currently 40p. There is the camera option too; obviously, allowing digital photo?s to be taken. The quality of these are not great but they are fine if sending to another phone and you wont realise how much fun can be had until you start taking pictures with it. You can also rather handily take photo?s of people and then attach that picture to their name in the contact book so when they phone you, there picture flashes up on the screen, allowing you to literally see who is calling. The next option is the images section, where all the pictures are stored and organised. In here you can rename your images, delete them or organise them in folders, nothing too interesting there really. There?s a very useful calendar next which allows you to input anniversaries, birthdays, appointments, TV shows, university timetables, anything really, its something that I find very useful and have made a lot of use for. The calendar can be viewed in either a daily view, weekly view or a monthly view, depending on how you would like to organise your life. As standard now, it also has WAP access which is the best I?ve seen on a mobile phone, making use of the large colour screen and fast GPRS connection, with a favourite and bookmarks section to help with that. As standard on nokia it has a profiles option to allow you to quickly change the phones settings to whether you want it loud, silent or just vibrating when you get a call, whatever suits. Then a to do list to further organise your life that now revolves around your new phone. To help with the phones settings you can change the connection settings in the connection folders, depending on whether you need to use the blue tooth, infrared or modem connection. Or you could mess around with the SIM card in the SIM folder or in the tools folder you can have a look and manage your JAVA applications that you probably will never download. Of course with a nokia there?s games although very disappointing is the fact that there are only two. Very good games, snake EX and mixpix EX but I would have expected more although you can download them and with the free CD ROM that is included with the phone you can add another 4 if you have a infra red or blue tooth port on your PC. The snake EX game is particularly good fun if any of your friends have the phone as you can play a 2 player version over the infra red or blue tooth connections. Then there?s an extra?s folder, which has currency converter, clock, calculator, voice recorder, ringtone composer and a note pad for things like that. The ringtones are very impressive compared to standard phones, being polyphonic and for once they actually are recognisable as the tune that they should be rather than just annoying beeps, or you could record your own over the voice recorder and use that. The memory of the phone is 3.6MB allowing plenty of stuff to be stored, and has been designed for lazy people like me too with voice dialling and a single button to turn on the speakerphone for hands free dialling. So to round it up, it?s a phone aimed at people who like their gadgets, who like to have the very latest thing and I would have to say its very well designed, very useful but still cant justify that price tag! I imagine it will only take a year before they have reduced the size of this phone, improved the camera and added more features, and although its great fun to have, a lot of it is unnecessary.

...mobiles now, and I've found Nokia to be consistently the best manufacturer to suit my needs, and always capable of providing a good quality, solid, reliable (ish), and extremely user friendly phone. How disappointed I find myself with Nokia's latest offering is incredible. Why I hear you ask - let me begin. The Nokia 6210 I was using previously was an excellent phone, solid, dependable, easy to use, but ultimately quite dull. After one and a half ... ...when I found out that Nokia designed the phone without provision for a data cable, meaning that a Bluetooth adapter for my PC would be required. A snip at a mere £65 quid (and even then, that's for a generic, non-Nokia approved item). Even more annoying (especially considering the bulk of the phone) is that the Bluetooth on the phone only supports data transfer. So no Bluetooth hands free kit then. Hurrah! All in all, I think I used the Bluetooth ...

...phone fires up with a nokia welcome screen, then asks for the lock code. (You may be able to bypass this, but I can't figure out how. If anyone knows please tell!) My hubby had it because the phone was on contract but I am a low value pay-as-you-goer and so I don't usually bother with lock codes.
Once that is input you reach the main screen, where you can access all the phone's features. The camera and the calendar are directly accessible via the ... ...the paperclip. Pushing the joystick in accesses your contacts.
The phone has too many features to fully list here, so I've concentrated on the ones I use.
MAKING CALLS
This is pretty straightforward using the searchable contacts list. Volume can be adjusted during the call.
TEXT MESSAGING
I find this a little clunky to get to, as you have to use the paperclip, then move the joystick to Messaging, then select inbox to read any new messages. It ...

...wisdom you pull out your Nokia 7650 so you can show the lads your catch. There the night ends. In the morning you wake up with a terrible hang over to find a picture on your phone of you with your tongue down the throat of a really very ugly women. What have you done?
The implications that this phone brings about are amazing. I mean you always have your phone with you, so therefore you always have your new camera with you. Bad move.
----====First ... ...Have you ever used a Nokia before? Chances are you have. If so, you know what the menu system is like (very easy to navigate and simple). This is no exception, however, because it is a much larger screen with full colour it is laid out in a slightly different way. All of the menu items are shown on screen for you to choose from. It has a four-way button that allows you to navigate the menu options, allow you to move up, down, left and right, and ...

Advantages: Solid standard phone features. Upgradeable software via Bluetooth. Good quality camera Disadvantages: Size too big for some. Occasional crashes. Questionable battery life
The Nokia 7650 comes direct from the latest crop of photo cameras aimed at the typical non-business customer. It is decidedly bigger than its rival, the 3650, clocking in at around 11cm long and 3cm thick. However, its looks ensure that this is not a mobile to be ashamed of; it has a certain charm and unique quality bereft form other similarly designed Nokia phones. Indeed, from the outset it looks a lot like a PDA, featuring a large and clear screen, ... ...a fiddly touch screen style interface are quickly forgotten though with a keypad that slides down, as immortalised in the film "The Matrix". Of course, this further adds to the phone's size, with it drawing comparisons to the dimensions of a regular house phone, but as this is only applicable when in use, it is not really an issue. The traditional phone functions are performed well, providing a clear line to both landlines and mobile numbers. The ...

Advantages: Way too many to say here Disadvantages: Size
Having had this phone now for about 2-3 weeks I thought it was time for me to share my opinions about it with you lot. Was going to do it a while ago but I felt I needed to learn about the phone and it features properly before doing so.
Right where do I start? Well I will start of with the one thing I don't like about the phone - the only thing I don't like about it actually...... It has to be size. It is quite a 'bulky' phone which can be annoying. ... ...I suppose it has to be this size due to taking the photographs.
Look Like?
It measures 10.5cm's x 5cm's when closed and when opened it measures 15cm's x 5cm. It has not got much thickness which is good. The phone itself is silver & black. On one side it has a button you can hold in to use the feature of voice activated dialling. On the pther side it has the button you press to turn the phone on and off. At the top of the phone we have a hole which ...

Advantages: Great Phone, Easy to use, so many great downloadable programs for it Disadvantages: Replacing the cover :(
I got this Phone at a great discount form my cousin, he managed to get it for me for £150 a year ago handset only.
This phone is a great combination of the Nokia7650 and 3650 but in a smaller and better appearance with a couple of extras. It has a memory card slot in case I wish to add applications from the Internet like Remote Control, MP3 player, File Browser, Compression, Browsers and more.
You can use the WAP which is very great as you can access Yahoo! Mail, Google and various websites which dont use frames.
The phone like all Nokias is very easy to use and has great features like Bluetooth, infared, Modem, Calander, Alarm, Recorder, Video Camera, Camera etc
The camera quality is great as you can put them onto your computer and they will come out great taking up nearly all the screen.
The only bad thing is the cover ...

Advantages: cool features, good memory capacity, great design. Disadvantages: Nothing I can think of!!!
The 6600 is definitely a phone to consider buying, especially when you are a Nokia fan and want a device with great flaunt value, decent features, excellent voice clarity and nice image capturing. However, there is no reason for Nokia7650 or 3650 users to switch to 6600.
Design -
Though the design may not appeal to you at first, it grows on you. The body is oval and features a dual-tone finish. In spite of being smaller than its predecessors, the 6600 feels bulky, and people with smaller hands may have an issue with single handed operation. The keypad is standard Nokia. There's five directional joystick in the middle flanked by two soft-keys.
Features-
This tri-band GSM phone has a 176x208 active matrix 64K TFT display. The internal memory is 6 MB. There's also a memory card sot for additional user memory - a 32 MB MMC ...
