This is the latest phone i've bought from Nokia as i tend to like their 8xxx series and this was no exception. It hasn't been out for very long and the price wasn't too expensive so i decided to buy it sim free from the net. I have owned the Nokia 8800 which was a nice phone but the battery life and the camera were both no very good so i sold that on. I then got the Nokia 8800 Sirocco which was a good phone but i got slightly bored with it and decided to sell that on too for a profit(the battery still wasn't great either).
However, when i received it i was pleasently surprised, the phone comes in a very presentable box like the 8800 and 8800 sirocco but there you get more accessories with it.
In the box you receive the phone,2 manuals, carry pouch, charger,cd,cleaning cloth, usb cable, earphones for the radio and a small keychain accessory.
I'd say that the Nokia 8600 Luna is one of the most beautiful phones that Nokia have ever brought out. The highly diserable black finish and the when you use the phone give you a clear indication that this is a well made and robust phone. A lot of the phone is made from stainless steel which makes it quite exclusive.
In terms of features, The phone comes with a 2 megapixel camera which takes excellent quality photos and has a digital zoom which is very handy. It also has various options to customise pictures and you also get a video recording function on it too. There is also the nightmode which allows you to take pics at night when the light isn't as good however it still isn't quite the same taking pics at night with this mode as it is if you take them during the day.
As with all modern Nokia phones, you can customise your menu and there are many features such as a media player, radio with FM,games,GPRS,voice dialling, speed dialling, profiles and the list goes on and on. This phone is also quadband whcih will allow you to use it anywhere in the world (providing there is network coverage of course)
Other useful features which are handy are the organiser which is perfect for work/leisure, currency converter and a world clock.
Battery life on this phone is much better than on the 8800 and 8800 sirocco and reception is also much better too as the previous models were not very good to use if you were in a busy and noisy environment. However do bare in mind that this can depend on your network too-generally if you stick to the big two networks Vodafone and orange you will rarely get any problems however i don't think this phone is available on orange.
Connectivity is really easy with this phone as it comes with a wire to connect to your PC and there is also bluetooth too.
I'd say that overall, this phone is great and has all the features that i want in a phone. The only things i would say are that if the battery was better and the phone was slightly lighter then it would be an even better phone but having said that -no phone is perfect out there and nor will there ever be.
