So invest in more to recue the risk. The Nokia 8850 is he slickest phone on the market with everything you would expect from a nokia. The only issue that concerns me is that as of yet you cant purchase the handset on orange, for orange. However, a little word of advice to you orange users, it doesnt ... ...for the sake of it buy a BT, Voda contract to get the 8850 your simcard (ornage that is) will still work in the phone. This is because it is unlocked (which means it will work on any of the networks!) Yay we can all cry! But if you dont want to purchase another contract or you simply cant my best advice is too look in the back of the loot in section 407 where the mobile phones are sold, second hand ones, likely to be ex company mobiles.
So ... more
Whether you think the issue of radiation is fact or fiction the truth is the effects are thus unknown. This prompted the australlians to study 28 handsets and see how much readiation per kilogram was absorbed into the human body. The Nokia 8850 is he slickest phone on the market with everything you would expect from a nokia. The only issue that concerns me is that as of yet you cant purchase the handset on orange, for orange. However, a little word of advice to you orange users, it doesnt matter! If you can purchase one without a contact or for the sake of it buy a BT, Voda contract to get the 8850 your simcard (ornage that is) will still work in the phone. This is because it is unlocked (which means it will work on any of the networks!) Yay we can all cry! So invest in your health and choose this sleak, easy to use, excecutive phone. In america they already have made it law for all mobiles to have the SAR emissions on all handsets (that is radiation absorbed by the human body per kilogramm) so why havent we?? Ummm something to lobby your MP about x

Advantages: Reliable, Attractive, Excellent Battery Life Disadvantages: Slightly Small Buttons, No WAP
Before purchasing my Nokia 8850 handset I was using a Nokia 7110 (and you will be seeing a review of that shortly, and it won't be as kind) and I really needed to replace it. Enough about the 7110, I'll save that for its review, onto the 8850. The 8850 is a small handset, probably only three inches in length, though with the slider down it fits nicely between ear and mouth. The first thing you will notice about it is that it is a very pretty phone. ... ...The battery life is everything Nokia says it is and sometimes more and it recharges quickly too. Most importantly, for someone upgrading from the 7110 as I did, is the slider is manual preventing that flick action that sometimes cut people off when you tried to answer them. Also the sim card is held more securely than in some previous Nokia phones so you do not loose service as often as you might. The profiles are there and the extra details with ...

Advantages: Good size & functionality. Looks real hot!! Disadvantages: Keys very small
...I have had a Nokia 8850 for a year now. I was so impressed that soon after I got mine I bought another for my girlfriend. Since then Nokia have brought out the 8890, a triband phone (which means you can use it in the USA as well as Europe) which tends to costs an extra 50 quid or so. Here is why I like it my 8850 so much :-
1. Size. The 8850 weighs on 91 g, and is 100 x 44 x 17 mm in dimensions. This is very small and light compared to rivals.
... ...h standby time is what Nokia claim. Well I am a heavy user and after a days heavy use need to charge it. But when usage drops I guess the 50 - 150 hours is probably reasonable and achievable. One hint is that the phone comes with a vibrate alert, useful for meetings etc, but this really runs down the battery. Use vibrate only when you need to!!!
4. Memory. The internal phonebook stores up to 250 names and phone numbers of up to 20 characters and ...

Advantages: Stylish, infrared and modem built in. Disadvantages: Expensive and becomes very hot after extended use.
The Nokia 8850 remains Nokia's premier phone along with its sister the 8890 which is the same phone but with Tri-band functionality meaning that you can use it in the US. The 8850 itself is Dual-band so it work on all major networks in the UK (Vodaphone, Cellnet, Orange, One2One).
The 8850 is encased in a sleek brushed aluminium casing with silver trim and has a black head sporting the Nokia logo. The keypad is accessible via a slider at the front ... ...The screen carries the traditional Nokia menu system with a blue backlight, which makes a refreshing change from the usual yellow backlight on other Nokia phones. Once the slider is down to reveal the keypad it also illuminates in a blue light for a period of 10 second to allow the user to clearly see the keys (although this feature can be turned off). The phone is able to store 250 names in its memory and contains the standard Nokia ring tones plus ...

Advantages: packed with features, style, reliability of brand. Disadvantages: not for those with big fingers and durability could be improved
...phone section I found a Nokia 8850 for £177.00 boxed without a sim card and able to use the pay as you go network.
On the value for money side of things I don’t believe that the Nokia 8850 is worth the £177.00 or not even the £250 odd retail price. You pay the extra hundred, as the style is top notch and up to very modern standards. Personally I think the Nokia 8210 is a better buy but to own one of these is much more than an advantage over ... ...high price. I believe that Nokia are the best at producing the best mobile phones so I thought that spending the money was not a silly as I first thought! Nokia phones can be bought second hand in as new condition from as little as £15-20!
Reliability…. As Nokia's are so good at producing mobile phones I am pretty much certain that the Nokia 8850 is going to be %100 trouble free in the time of me owning the phone. I have had many different ...

Advantages: small, light, packed with features Disadvantages: so small that you look like you are just talking to your hand when using it!
The Nokia 8210 is a pocket sized wonder. It is blessed with all the features of the Nokia8850, yet weighs in at a couple of hundred pounds cheaper ( as well as a few grammes lighter). It manages to combine the serious features required by business users, like infra-red modem link up, while retaining a fun side with its inbuilt games and red fascia. I have owned my Nokia 8210 for 6 months now and have still got nothing but praise for it. If you can afford to splash out a little extra on your mobile phone I think you can do no better that the 8210. ...

Advantages: Slim, fast respond on messaging Disadvantages: buttons are too small, small screen
This phone was hot for some period 5 years ago after the publication or Nokia8850. I had bought this phone on 2001 with a price of US$280(approximately). It was very user friendly and easy to use with fast respond on messaing. Its defaulted games were also hot for that time. It was quite slim and light to carry. Anyway, the screen is too small and the colour and graphic effect on the phone is not satisfactory. The size of the buttons on the phone are too small and let it became inconvenient for male users. For current technology situation, it is not suitable for users since it was already quite out-dated, comparing with those new published Nokia phone such as Nokia 7280, Nokia 6680, N90 and so on. ...

Advantages: good design Disadvantages: another nokia
New Nokias arrive more often than buses in this part of the world, and though reasonably new the Nokia 3310 is already a common sight on the street.
The soap bar shape with built is antenna is solid and more masculine looking than the more expensive Nokia 8210 or 8850. The phone has similair features to the 3210 in a slightly smaller overall size - and manages to add a stopwatch, vibrate alert and voice activated dialling - all restricted until recently to much pricier Nokias.
The 3310 is widely available free of charge on contract and is now on several networks on pay as you talk style schemes.
The clip on covers allow you to personalise this popular phone. ...
