Advantages: Good sound quallity, nokia phone users already have a charger Disadvantages: Lacking in hands free controls
...No volume control so you have to use the one on the phone (not hands free friendly), uncomfortable in the ear, changeable covers act as ear clip which feels tacky and the sound quality isn't great.
On the plus side, uses the same charger as my mobile phone (the current uber small plug) so I do not have to carry two cargers with me everywhere.
Sound quality is reasonable, and when the volume on the phone is up, this unit handles the volume without distortion so handy in noisy enviroments.
Overall, not as good as my old Motorola headset which also had many more hands free functions over this Nokia unit and was the same price.
My recommendation, look at the Motorola or Jabba sets...

Advantages: Easy to use and connect Disadvantages: Other people can hear what you say
...The best thing I found with the headset was how easy it was to connect to my phone (nokia 6230). The clarity whilst having conversations is great and the the way it fits onto my ear was confortable. If you have any problems using it, the manual provided has the answers.
The biggest disadvantage of the headset is that other people can hear your conversation. The reason for this is that the headset can be used on your left or right ear, and has a speaker on each side. This is not so bad if you turn the volume setting to low.
The headset can be charged using most nokia chargers and doesn't take too long to charge. The headset can also be used with more than one phone.
I believe it was a good buy. I bought the headset to use whilst driving, and it does exactly what I expected. I can keep the phone in my pocket and answer any call...

...Ah, the 5110. A good, robust phone. Not that small in comparison with newer phones, but it still has pretty good battery life for its age.
I made sure I hung onto my old 5110 handset - it has proved its worth as a backup several times so far, and I'm thinking of getting a pay as you go SIM for it so that it can be left around for general use as well as in the event of my current handset malfunctioning.
It doesn't have IR, it has an awkward headset connector and you can't download ringtones and logos to it. So what. It works, it continues to work and it has the Nokia user interface which manages to be so intuitive.
So, people want more info, eh? Right...
The 5110 works on GSM900 - so Cellnet or Vodafone (IIRC, Cellnet has a GSM1800 allocation, but I don't think they are actually using it). Max time between charges I remember...
