To transfer files such as images, music, games, applications and more between your nokia phone and a PC you will need a connection between the two. The best ways to do this are through bluetooth, infared or using this data cable. Using this data cable i have put music onto my phone, backed up images onto the psp and much more. Also unless you have a PC or laptop with built in compatable bluetooth or infared the cable is the cheapest method to make a connection with the PC and phone. The data cable works with nokia PC suite and the drivers are included in the PC suite if you cant find them. The downside to this cable is that even though it is for nokia phones it is not for all nokia phones. For example the 6600 phone is not compatible. For this reason you should check Nokia's website for information unless you know you phone works with the cable.
---COST---
A USB data cable is usually supplied with your Nokia Phone and if your phone came with the data cable pictured then your phone will work with this cable. If you have lost or broken your data cable or bought your phone second hand and did not recieve one then you will need to pay around £5 - £10 depending on what sites or shops you buy it from. It is great value for money as you will always be using it.
---THE CABLE---
The cable its self is quite strong and will last a long time however if the cable is pulled or not looked after correctly then you will break it quickly. I have had the contacts bent on mine which means the connection between the phone and the PC can not be made and so the cable is useless. I have also had loose connections in the wire so while i was transfering data the slightest knock on the wire would disconnect the phone from the PC and i would have to start the transfer again. I mainly use the cable for transfering my music to my phone and to transfer my pictures i have taken with the phones camera to the PC. Using the nokia installer software available from nokias website you can also install java and/or symbian applications and games to your phone quickly and easily.
---SHOULD I BUY???---
If you havnt got a USB data cable and you need one for file transfers i strongly recommend using this data cable as it is cheaper than buying other connection methods such as bluetooth and infared PC adaptors. If you want a back-up cable or back-up method of connection i also suggest you buy a cable as they are quite cheap and are good value for money.
