I have always chosen Nokia phones for my personal mobile as no matter what ideas they come up with they are always user friendly and follow the same basic ideas so you can go from one to another without much hassle and them becoming too complicated.

When I first got the Nokia E5 I believed it was just what I had become to expect from Nokia, easy to use and up to date. The phone is quite big compared to some of the minute phones you can get nowadays, it is about 2 inches by about 5 inches and is black in colour. The screen for the phone is about 2 inches by 1.5 inches and then there is a silver strip across where the basic command buttons sit and then the rest below is black and has a full querty keyboard. The back of the phone is silver and easy to remove with a simple little pinch either side of the phone to allow the back to pop off.

The buttons on the phone are as basic as the first Nokia I owned, green to select, red to cancel and a menu button, the menu button on this phone is a sqaure in the centre of the silver bar. On the front screen you have a tool bar which allows you to select a couple of options straight from the front screen rather than the main menu, there is the ovi maps, camera, internet, contacts, apps shop and a web search. I find it just as easy to go to the main menu to find what I want and don't really use this bar and find it quite annoying that I can't find a way to remove it. Also on the front screen you can set a quick ring for a number of contacts and you can add a picture of the person to scroll through on the front screen, this can be a pain if you have it highlighted without realising as if you try and do anything on the phone it will ring the highlighted person.

With my contract I have free internet, this is the first phone that I have been using interent on so I haven't got much to compare it to but I would say it is extremely slow and I would have to really need to be on the internet to bother as I get annoyed waiting for it. The same goes for the Ovi maps application as I have spent over ten minutes supposedly connected and it has never managed to track us yet. But like I say I don't know if this is the capability of the phone or the signal although I would guess more likely to be the signal.

The camera on the phone is a 5mp camera which I am pleased with, the camera ias easy to use and you can zoom in and out without losing too much clarity, the camera is quick to load and knows when to use the flash without a problem and i even managed to take some shots at a musikc concert and they came out quite clear. The video camera on the phone is not so good and originally I thought it was just as I was trying to record quiet things such as my baby gurgling but then I tried to record my sister singing at a gig and the sound could barely be heard either.

The phone also has all the general things that you have on a phone now security, calculator, calendar, alarm and a few games so the basics are still the same as most Nokia phones just with the additions of internet, apps and the maps system.

The phone is easy to work and like I say i have always liked Nokias so I didn't expect this one to be any different and to begin with it wasn't however the speakers on it aren't very good and after about 6 months the sound of the phone started getting tinney. After a couple more months the sounds of my messages disappeared totally and then randomly came back a month or so later. I now daren't change any of my settiongs or ring tones incase my sound goes again as I am not due an upgrade until May, you may be thinking maybe this is just a faulty phone however exactly the same happened with my sisters phone and so I would not recommend this phone although I will still stay with Nokia.
