Well it looks as if just about everyone on the site has done a review on this phone, but hey here goes! Well ill just start by saying that this was the best phone i ever used. And i really hated to lose it when it got broken. Yes, my one year old daughter threw it down the toilet! She thought it was hilarious. Okay ill admit it was kinda funny! :)
But back to the review!

Well this phone has got just about ever feature you could imagine a phone would have. Forget buying yourself a calculator, an mp3 player, even a digital camera, they're all there.

I'll start by listing all of the features this phone has, so that you will have a better idea what to expect :)

The overall appearance of this phone is,all in all, pretty impressive. They say looks arent everything, but looks are just an added bonus with this phone. It has a shiny metallic silver finish,very posh! There are plenty of buttons to play around with, plus there is a MASSIVE screen for you to burn your eyes out. Flip the phone around, the back has like a 'second' cover, slide this down to reveal the camera. It has an impressive 2mp camera, with built in flash(which is brilliant for a darker room or at night!) The front of the phone has a smaller, 1.3mp camera, which is used for your video calls, but also works great for taking pics of yourself, as you can see your picture on the screen before you take it. No more taking pics of yourself, on to turn the phone around and say 'dammit i cant get it to look the way i want!'

When you initially turn on the phone it takes some time to start up (think 30 seconds before the pin request). The Nokia logo comes up, and then onto your main display screen. Along the top is your signal strength, the clock, your network provider, and your battery strength. Then underneath there is like a 'mini menu', it provides shortcuts to your preferred features in the phone. You can, of course, change these shortcuts, or get rid of the menu completely (for examole, if you have a fancy wallpaper! The menu really gets in the way!),but i will show you how to get rid of it later.

Now, to access the main menu, you can either press the little square button in the centre, between the direction buttons, or there is an allocated menu button to the left of the '1' and '4' number keys.

In your menu, the first folder is 'visual radio'. Im actually so sorry to say, but i never really worked out how to use this. From what i gather, its what the name says, the radio with some sort of video display to it. Ever time i tried to use visual radio, i got asked for my wap service provider, so i dont know if you actually get charged for using this service.

Next up you have the 'go to' folder. Nothing special there, just shortcuts to many other folders in the phone, although as you are already in the main menu, and can just as handy go straight to the folder itself, i didnt find the 'go to' menu to much help.

You then have a folder called 'my own'. Inside you have the sub folders 'IM' (some sort of instant messaging service),'Log'(a log of all calls missed, dialled and recieved),'Tutorial' (a tutorial of using the phone),'Music'(your music folder), and 'lifeblog' (this keeps a record of what you do in the phone, eg. photos, video etc..). Now i have to admit when i first used the phone i felt like a big wig and thought 'why would i need the tutorial? I KNOW how to use a phone!'' But i actually found myself returning to use it so it is handy.Oh you will also find games in here!

Next folder is 'Imaging'. This is where you can go to take photos or video(never bothered using these,your just as well sliding down the back cover of the phone, as this automatally opens up the camera.). This folder also contains Real Player, which you use to watch your movies, and Image Print (use via your data cable)

Next folder is 'Messaging', no explanation needed really, except now you have the added option of e-mail.

Gallery- This is where you can come to view photos and video(again), play your mp3 tracks, and sound clips. Another sub folder i never used, 'links' i think this is wap links to download music, wallpapers, etc

Now to start into the technical stuff. The next folder is 'Office'. In here is your voice recorder( nothing new), notes, calculator and to do, as well as a new option, 'converter'. I thougth this was great, it converts things like acres into hectares,degees celcius into fahrenheight, horsepower into kilowatts and the like, all this real techie stuff. Pretty handy. At times.

'Contacts'. Again no explanation needed. Just in case, your phone numbers stored, plus create new contacts. You can also record your voice tags in here,me and my mate had great craic with this, we said rude stuff into the phone and had the guys voice say it back to us!! ha ha! Ahem..Anyway.....

Calender. Yeah your dates and save stuff you have to do on certain days, and you can set up the alarm to go off and stuff

'Clock'. Set the time. Which me clever clogs did while setting up the phone..

Connect, THis is all your connectivity settings. Bluetooth, You can transfer data to another phone or to a pc. Sync, Conn. Mgr and Dev. Mgr. Im sorry i dont know what these are

Okay listen up cos this is more technical stuff! Your tools folder, you have the media key, which lets you decide what to use the little button to the right of number 3 and 6for. I personally set it for Vodafone live, But feel free to use it for whatever. 'Themes', this sets your wallpaper and colour of the display. Plenty of downloadables on various sites. 'Profiles'. Whether the phone is on general, silent, loud...'Settings' The settings for your phone, your calls, and connection.I said earlier i would explain how to get rid of the little menu in the main standby screen. Well you come here to settings, select 'phone settings'. Select 'standby mode', 'active standby', press once to 'off'. There you go! 'Voice mail'. 'Speed dial'. Voice commands, talk into the phone and auto jump to stuff like bluetooth. 'Memory' your memory card stats.Manager and file manager' Yuk.... this is complicated to use its all your downloads and their stats use this frequently to clear my memory card. Activation keys' Hmm.. not sure..... Transfer., MOve stuff between devices.

'Web' is the last folder. You can view your bookmarks and go to them via wap.

There is also another option, if you would like to add another folder, maybe because you have something that you dont think belongs in any of the existing folders, for example if you want a games folder, you can do this. Just press the left okay button in the menu and select new folder.

Well thats the basic features of the phone in a nutshell/ There is of course, more to it, but thats impossible to describe unless you actually have the phone in front of you.

EASE OF USE;

Well overall i found it pretty easy to use one i got the hang of it.However it is pretty complicated for a while and like i say does take a bit of getting used to. Another thing i should point out, the keys on this phone are ***tiny*** If your a grown man with tree trunks for hands this phone is not for you!!!

BATTERY LIFE;

Hmm.....Well to be honest it isnt great.. Youre talking maybe a day with the 3g on. However this isnt a fault with the phone, its said of all 3g phones, that the 3g feature eats up battery power. Kinda understandable really. However i never actually found this a problem, as long as i kept it charged up it never really died on me while i was out.

COST;

Ouch.This is the painful bit. I must have been slightly insane at the time but i went out and paid E329.00(about £220) on it last year. I think it can be picked up now for about £150(E220), but only if you REALLY shop around. It will of course be more expensive if you decide to buy it sim free. However i would say this is worth it as N70 is in nokias new BB5 category, which can only be unlocked but your service provider (who are normally contrary and wont unlock it unless you spend a certain amount of credit etc...) Plus you avoid all that horrible branding.

PS. Its now a couple of months since i tried to unlock my n70, so mobile unlock companies may have by now come up with a way to unlock them, im not sure.

RANGE OF FEATURES;

Except for 'Do my ironing and my hoovering', this phone has just about everything

OVERALL IMPRESSION;

I was so pleased with this phone that i am currently saving to buy a new one. LIke i say, it has just about everything, ang i was well chuffed as it replaced my mp3 player and my camera, giving me much more space in my handbag! Although the size of the phone made up for them! Its massive!! But overall, Nokia i give you 10 out of 10. I take my hat off to you :) :) :)
