I purchased the Nokia N73 as a replacement for my Current 6230i. It was the only phone out at the time i bought which really took my eye with its style, colour and most of all...features.
The handset is a bar style design and is available in a range of colours. Mine is the Purple backed one, which i was given with no choice buy the operator at the time. The phone looks stunning from the outset.
The N73 weighs 116 grams & measures 110 x 49 x19 mm in total which is a compact & well designed handset. The phone is full of the latest technology and programs designed to enhance the users experience of the phone.
The N73 comes with 42 MB of internal memory & the opportunity to expand the phones memory up to by using the MiniSD memory card for extra storage. This would be highly recommended for high volume storage of photos and music.
The phone is a 3G mobile phone which offers the user great connectivity which includes Bluetooth and an infra red connection to allow for quick and easy movement of pictures and documents between devices. The phone allows for quick and easy connection to the Internet & enjoy a fast HTML browsing with full text and pictures.
Nokia PC Suite & Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition are all included on the phone and come with Installation disc and Cable.
The phone comes with a large 2.4 Inch TFT colour screen which provides 262k colours & a 240 x 320 pixel screen resolution. The screen comes with a light detector which can be used to save power & provides the best possible brightness on the screen. The integrated 3.2 megapixel camera is an excellent addition to the phone..providing many of the features common with standalone digital cameras on the market. The Carl Zeiss lens provides quality in the pictures, and the 20x digital zoom allows for crisp and clear digital photos to be taken in any environment through the many different settings that have been inbuilt into the phone.
Such settings include: Flash - automatic, off, on, or eye reduction mode. The user may select an advanced camera mode which includes still, sequence & video mode. The user can select from normal, sepia, black & white, vivid & negative to change the colour effect of their photo. This can be changed to capture photos in different ways by selecting either automatic, user defined, close up, landscape, sport, portrait or night setting. The second VGA camera on the front of the phone can be used for video calling to another 3G phone
As expected with a Nokia phone...all of the features that have become part of our everyday lives are included such as contact details, notes, clock feature, calendar, to do list, converter & calculator. The N73 has a voice dialling feature which allows the user to make a call quickly by voice activation alone. The handsfree speaker phone feature is useful & easy to set up which allows the user to have a conversation over the loud speaker system. The Nokia N73 comes with a vibration alert which can be set to on or off depending on the situation.
The N73 comes with all the messaging features which include email with attachments, text messaging, multimedia messaging & instant messaging. The multimedia messaging service allows the user to send & receive messages with photos or video with sound & text.
Although no text message sent counter is provided on the N73, whereas previous models have had this function this is only a small downside considering the other functionality of the phone
The N73 uses a new style charger, therefore meaning that users with previous Nokia models will not be able to use existing chargers on this phone. This problem has been overcome by Nokia providing an adapter cable in the Box as standard but could easily be forgotten and the user could easily find themselves with no battery.
All in all, the N73 is a superb phone, and in my opinion one of the best Phones on the market at the moment. It is well worth the money, just for the camera element.
