I wouldn't describe this phone as heavy or even a bit bulky, however it is larger than some other phones but this is really the perfect size for me.

However when you get it in your hands it looks more like a black and dark silver/brown colour. Also the back panel of the phone has tiny speckles that reflect light and makes it look ever so stylish.

The main reason I got this phone, was because I was bored with my ipod and I wanted a phone with an mp3 on it. Well I couldn't afford an I phone, and scene as this has a massive 8 gb of storage space, I though this must be the next best thing. The layout for playing the music is very simple and I love having all my music on my phone so I can either play it loud to people, or plug in my earphones and listen to it in private.
The camera on this phone is great too, its 2mp which Is really clear and sharp. Also because the screens so good its great for seeing everything you've taken.
Altogether this phone is great if you love your music, and just for music alone, I would say its as good as an ipod, if not better, and because you have all your phone things built in too, as well as games and even the chance to take pictures and videos, then this phone is great. So I say if you have an ipod kicking about, sell it, and get some extra cash together, go out and buy this phone. Because trust me its really good.

Nokia have always been very favourite mobile phone producer. I deviated once from them in about 2001, but have otherwise been steadfastly loyal. I usually tend to go for the simple models. I'm not too bothered by gadgets, as long as I can call and text I'm happy. I was given this phone for my birthday and was a little scared to begin with. So many functions! However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was easy to use, like all other nokia ... ...what it cost!].
The Nokia N81has up to 8GB internal flash memory for music, games, video, images and applications. Apparently this is not all that great, but it's more than enough for my purposes.
Talk time is up to 240 minutes and stand by time is up to 17 days [which I thought was amazing - I've only had about 3 days before! I do find it hard to remember to charge though as it needs it so infrequently].
Music playback time is up to 11.5 hours ...

I feel Nokia have been outclassed in the market over the past few years, and i have found myself becoming increasingly fond of sony ericsson, however without getting a full size PDA S/E do not do a phone with WI-FI (a key feature that attracted me to the N81) Having been a previous fan of nokia's in the days of the 3210 3310 etc... i was very keen to get my hands on my new phone..... i was not to be dissapointed,
First thing about this handset is ... ...operating system such as the nokia is complicated and far to difficult to use, however i am not a computer genuis although through an easy installation guide and easy to use software i have had no problem linking the phone with my PC.
Key features to the phone are :
1. excellent Media Player
2. 2mp camera (excellent quality on screen)
3. Photos can be printed straight from the phone
4. WI-FI (free internet browsing in 'Hotspots'
5. N-Gage Gaming

I've had my Nokia N81 8GB for about 4 weeks now and I have to say it looks very good. User interface is very easy to use and self explanatory as you would normally find with Nokia phones. They are still one of the best manufacturers for this sort of thing on the market. Quality of sound is good. You will love the memory size; 8GB is enough for most needs that a typical phone is there to serve. At just 2 megapixels the camera is a little bit disappointing ... ...bad, so for me, this bit isn't that much of an issue. The battery life is alright although I've seen better. If you play few songs on this phone, text and make calls, the battery won't last you too much more than a day. But I guess many phones on the market get drained by this kind of activity in less than 2 hours, so it's not bad. The key problem I have with this phone is that it makes a bizzarre rattling noise apparently made by the lock button ...

I won my nokia off of a radio station, and I have to say, I was extremely impressed with the phone! Nokia have always been a reliable model to have, as they are simple and easy to use, but at the same time having lots of features. The N81 has brilliant memory; 8gb built in! This means you can store loads of texts, pictures, videos and music without the phone slowing down and taking ages to do anything, which I have had a big problem with before! ... ...many up-to-date features. It looks expensive and stylish, with a nice finish to the phone.
One disapointment was the lack of a decent camera, it only has a 2mp one, which is a let down after the rest of the phone. The large scrren makes the pictures seem distorted, a better camera would have been better. Also it isn't very hard wearing, there is no protective cover on the LCD screen, which means a simple knock can crack and break the screen. All ...
