I have owned this mobile phone since April 2008, previous to this phone I have owned the original Nokia N95. I have found this superior to the original because of its longer battery life and larger internal storage.
When I opened the box (phones packaging) it came with the phone (obviously), battery, battery cover, charger, USB cable, TV out cable and earphones (with a in-line remote control). Also included was the CD-ROM (containing the Nokia PC Suite) and a leaflet about the Nokia N-Gage gaming feature. The setup on the phone is rather easily, the phone can even set its own time by using your mobile phone operator (e.g. Vodafone).
The home (main) screen on the phone by default (depending on your network) has quick ways to get into the main features of the phone (such as contacts, camera, alarm clock and bluetooth),any appointments in the calendar on the phone (which can be updated with Microsoft Outlook on your computer) is shown on the home (main screen), so you only have to glance at your phone for those upcoming appointments on the same day (as a college student I used the calendar to save me carrying a paper lesson timetable).
When I am on the move (walking or on public transport) I regulary use the MP3 player which allows you to view the songs (on its 8GB memory) by the name of the song, the artist, the album and other criteria (such as the Genre), this allows you to find the song that you want to listen to quickly and easily. Sadly I lost the earphones that are included with the mobile phone, but thankfully any standard set or earphones or headphones are compatible with the phone (using the jack on the left) without any special type of adapter.
The camera on the phone is excellent, and I find it better to use and of a better quality than some digital camera's. It is quick and easy to take photo's of a good quality and the phone has an excellent camera light for taking photo's in the dark. Most digital camera's don't have data transmitting capabilities (e.g. bluetooth, picture messaging) like mobile phones and some mobile phones with camera's don't take good quality photo's. The Nokia N95 takes good quality photo's and has the common features of a camera phone (e.g. E-Mail pictures directly from your mobile phone). The phone is included with a TV Out cable so I can show my friends the photo's I have taken using a TV Screen.
The phone book can store a large range of information from the persons name to the persons job title, it really is a professional phone book (similar to those that you find in E-Mail software on a computer). The phones 8GB of mass storage is an incredible amount of memory to store java applications, N-Gage games, Photograph's, Videos and of course music.
In the past i have been lost (while walking) in a area that I was not familiar with, thankfully the Nokia Maps (preloaded onto the phone) enabled me to see which directions I needed to walk to get home. The phone is useful when out and about when I need to know the conversion to imperial units from metric, weather its inches to centimetres, temperature the phone has an convertor (as well as a calculator of course). There is software in the phone to view PDF documents (Adobe reader) and to read documents and spreadsheets in the common formats (QuickOffice).
Last of all, the phone is easy to text on, you can even retreive media files from your computer using the phone (with the required software installed) if you connect your phone to a wireless home network (that your computer is on),
Keep up the good work Nokia!
