Having always been a Nokia fan, when the time came to upgrade by phone from the 'very functional once you upgraded the firmware' N73, I had little hesitation in going for the N95, despite staff at O2 advising me the K850i was a 'vastly superior phone'.
The handset was free and the contact very rosy so I waited eagerly for it's arrival. It was easy to se up, the phone worked well straight out of the box.
Being a bit of a geek my first port of call was gadgets, the mp3 player, video player, camera etc. The screen proved to be large and well designed. The onboard real player function makes an excellent video player. The 5Mps camera is as you'd expect excellent and the auto focus is a godsend to someone an inept at photography as myself.
Thanks once again to the screen internet use it easy, and the camera functions clear. The video camera is particular is surprisingly high quality.
The phone came complete with a 1GB memory card, complete with set of maps for the sat-nav system. The package also included headset, car charger and TV-Out cable.
The thing I was most happy with was the use of a standard 3.5mm jack for headphone/headset use. No more using the weird Nokia connectors at the bottom of the phone!
There's also a built in 'office' type software which interfaces with a wireless keyboard. With use of this and the TV out cable, you could turn your TV into a WP, Excel doc etc (Or just use the phone, up too you)
The keys are nice and big on this too, much better than the N73.
There are gripes however, the 'media' buttons on one direction of the phones 2-way slide are pretty but essentially an extra without need. While viewing video in landscape mode, the existing buttons on the front of the phone work just as well. Although sliding these buttons open is an effective way of starting the media player in the first place.
The biggest gripe is the battery, which is quite low powered. I've found the battery life to only be around a day. With regular use of the 'toys' you could find yourself charging this phone each evening. However, saying that the charge time for the phone is also very low. However, I think I'd prefer bigger battery.
