If you're reading this review because you're interested in purchasing the Nokia N95. I hope I do this phone justice. It really is a fantastic Mobile Phone. With a lot of features to offer.
--- Features ---
Camera: 5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, video(VGA 30fps), flash
secondary CIF videocall camera
Built-in GPS navigation
Installed Maps application covering over 100 countries
You may find I repeat some of these features as they pop up in my review.
--- What I love about the phone ---
a) Applications - you can upload games/software/music - just like adding new applications on your computer! For long journeys I seem to always end up playing Who Wants to be a Millionaire on the phone!
The graphics are really good too!
b) WiFi - We have a BT HomeHub which means I can lay in bed and chat on MSN on my phone! - Fantastic. Oh I can be really sad and check Facebook or whatever else I like too. All from one modem in the house! It also comes in useful if you're out and about. Some pubs offer free WiFi access. To keep you in there establishment I suppose!
c) The camera. I love taking pictures. Where ever I am and whoever I'm with. I'm not an expert when it comes to cameras.
Camera details:
5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, video(VGA 30fps), flash
That might as well be foreign to me but I'm sure you understand! I can say it prints the pictures in very high quality. The 8GB Memory lets me store lots of the pictures too!
d) MP3's: I love them! Having the opportunity to use them as ringtones is great. The phone produces music in good sound quality. Even if you don't want the songs as ringtones. Just listening to the music is easy and very simply. Sometimes I take my phone into the bathroom and leave it playing an album or audio book!
e) USB. The phone connects to your PC via a USB Cable which is very easy to attach. The computer then makes a 'ding dong' noise to say you have plugged the usb cable/phone into the computer. Software installed (When you purchased the phone) then starts up. Asking which option you would like. All very easy and straight forward.
--- What I don't like --- To be honest there isn't much I don't like about this phone. However it can't be perfect can it? For instance for some people the size may not be suitable (Dimensions: 99 x 53 x 21 mm, 96 cc). It's not going to fit in your pocket comfortably, I can tell you that much!
So here are my personal quibbles with the phone:
a) The price! This phone is not cheap... Ebay sellers; sell it around the £325.00 mark. Is it worth it? Well if you agree with my above points then probably 'yes'.
b) The battery life. Yeah the battery life is terrible. Really disappointing...
Talk time: Up to 6 hours Stand-by: Up to 280 hours
Because I use WiFi "a lot" the battery seems to drain ultra quick!
--- Verdict ---
I've had a fair few phones over the years. This has to be my favorite. I've even surprised myself. I use to one the smallest, most stylish good looking phone. I'm starting to mature now and realise it's what's in side that counts.
If you have the money and don't mind a bigger phone. I would suggest you buy the Nokia N95! It's available in both Black and Silver (I have the black). From what I gather the Black is more desirable therefore more expensive!
Summary: A sublime phone - with little to grumble about!
