My experience
Review of British Telecommunications - BT Ignition ISDN Terminal Adapter by
grimwades
Advantages: External, BT made
Disadvantages: Price, support
...I got my BT Ignition ISDN Terminal Second hand in October. I bought it as I had just got BT Home Highway. I chose a BT adapter as I trust BT products. Since then I have found it reasonable. Great because it uses no system memory and you can see if the contection is flowing (as it's external). I am not happy with the level of technical support. Firstly the line is a 0990 number (premium rate), secondly they aren't open during weekends and thridly as I have never been able to dual bond my ISDN lines....

A rather usefull box...
Review of 3Com ISDN Pro Terminal Adapter by
trafalguar
Advantages: Easy and saves you PCI slots
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Hello.. this is my first opinion on uk.ciao.com ... now this is one of the most usefull grey boxes on that scale i have ever seen ! Because of the sililarites between LAN and ISDN connections they can both use the same wire, RJ45, and so £com created a card which would not only serv as your ocnnection to the internet via and ISDN line... But AT THE SAME TIME communicate with the other computers on the network. This is ideal for Internet connection sharing as the information requested can be instantley picked up from the card and sent back to other remote computers as the internet connection is in the same place !! It is expensive but.. good !!...

Billion - Great Value, Great Product
Review of Billion ISDN USB TA128 by
antony
Advantages: Easy to install, fast, reliable, compatible, cross-platfrom support, good looking, one of the best products of any type have ever used.
Disadvantages: technical support isn't 100% but you won't need it anyway
...I bought the Billion 128K USB ISDN Terminal Adapter on the advice of a friend who is an IT technician at my college here in england. After much shopping around finding only expensive ISDN adapters which I guess performed well, being from well known companies such as 3COM, I decided to buy a cheaper, internal device. After a month of use, I decided the device was pathetic, useless, and unreliable. I asked another home highway user what he used to get his 26k/sec download speeds and he reccommended the Billion USB TA. for sixty quid it wasn't terribly expensive, and although I'd never heard of Billion before, I decided to buy it, and I'm glad I did, it connects in 1/3rd of a second, it stays connected, never fails, installs like a dream, and is exteremely fast, pushing the speed capability of ISDN to its limits. it is also very good...
