Norton's '2005 Internet Security'

Advantages: Good complete package
Disadvantages: Noticeably slows down speed of system once installed

I bought this product after previously using Symantec's security products (anti virus, firewall, anti spam etc.) and because I've always felt safe and secure and have never had any problems with them before, however...... I noticed after installing it, and also after recommending it to approx. 6 friends and installing it on their machines, that it noticeably reduced the speed performance of our PCs, compared with before we installed it. Mainly on booting up the system. The programme itself has to load up all of the components it uses to protect your system before you can start using your PC - fair enough obviously! But in doing this, bootup time is significantly extended. Norton - Excellent for Security

Introduction ************* Norton Internet Security 2005 is an excellent software package offering a large amount of software sold by Norton all in one package. Installation ************* Inserting the CD into the CD-ROM and waiting for the installation to load automatically is half the installation because the user only needs to select where they want it to be installed and what type of installation they want and all that is left is to sit back and wait. With in a few moments the software has been installed and a system restart is needed. When the system has started up again the system will start from now on with the anti virus loading every time as well as the firewall with a couple other features as well. Norton AntiVirus 2005 11.0 Complete package

Advantages: I think to be the best on the market
Disadvantages: none that i have found

WOW is all I can say, after being advised by an expert about which is the best software to use for antivirus protection I always got directed to Norton. I first used norton antivirus 2004 and this was great, it found all viruses that even I was surprised I had on my PC and offered free updates for a whole year. So come the new year I wanted better and I got it with Norton AntiVirus 2005 11.0 and this is even better. I recently found 527 viruses on my PC thanks to Norton.
