When I go into a shop I like to seebrand names. Sure they cost a little bit more but if you have tried one of the companys other products and it worked well then at least you know you won't be coming back to the shop in a few days asking for a refund.
I decided to take a chance with Norton. I have heard a lot about Norton and their Anti Virus software and decide I needed to upgrade from my free virus scanner and get something a little more powerful.
I spent around £25 on the software. When I got it home I put it straight in my computer. I type in my serial number and started downloading the updates, which by the way can take up to half an hour (even on brodband).
After a quick restart Norton started working. I did a quick scan and found no viruses so was very happy. After a few days I noticed my system was starting to slow down. It would freeze at times and just wasn't performing at it's best. I e-mailed the shop where I got it from and they said I need a firewall to protect my computer fully.
So I purchased Norton Firewall. I had both installed yet my system seemed to be slowing down even more. Then I went onto the internet and looked a review for Norton and was shocked to find I wasn't the only person who this had happened to. It seems a few other users who have Norton complained of their computers slowing down.
I have a 2.0ghz computer with 512mb and a 40gb Hard Drive, not what you would call a out of date computer. After another few days with Norton I decided to just uninstall it and return it to the store.
I looked around for another product and ended up going with MCaFee security centre which so far it working great compared to Norton.
Basicly your paying £25 for something that will more then likely slow down your computer. They provide little in the way of customer service apart from a website with details on all the latest viruses. I would rather get a virus then reinstall this product. In my eyes Norton are a virus themseleves that need to be wiped out!
Thanks For Reading My Review :)

Apart from telling me that it will "slow down" my computer you have told me very little else that it does, or promises. Some of your problems could be due to the ISP you use (most also now contain virus-checkers and firewalls as "standard" - but these might even "fight" with what you have installed yourself - free or not...). If you add nore information about the actual product I will come back and re-rate. - ♥ - jes ≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{::::: |||||<
