Since installing this Internet Security Package a week ago, I have easily and simply adjusted the settings to suit my own personal tastes.
Other software I have used in the past, meant often turning off the security all together in order to display certain sites, as the settings were inflexible.
The program seems to use little resources of RAM, leaving much more for application that I want to use.
Often anti-virus software slows down surfing the internet, but I haven't seen much evidence of the system running slow, or taking its time downloading web pages.
The Package isn't necessarily the cheapest available, but offers excellent PROTECTION all round, and the ability for even the novice to change and adapt the software for their own personal use.
I choose the download via the website, and the draw back being they don't supply a CD-ROM backup by post, but by paying less than £5, you can re-download the software as many times as you like for up to 12 months, (so an acceptable alternative).
FURTHER NOTE ADDED 18 MARCH 2005. Yesterday I was attacked by one of the latest WORMS transmitted through MSN messenger. Thanks to this anti virus program I was spared. But now at least 3 of my friends I have learnt are infected with their anti-virus programs working (but not norton) so I think that NORTON has been very pro active in stopping this WORM. I maybe incorrect but I haven't seen any other ANTI-VIRUS software that protects user on MESSENGER's.. but NORTON has be conciderate to put this handy little extra into their's...

The problem I have is that my system crashes completely when I try to install Norton! I've had no choice but to install a different firewall. Pete.

I was in agreement with you for a time-that is until my system faced a major Trajan attack with it let through! Revised my review as a result. Totally useless and have now dumped it though you have to speak as you find!

I have Norton Antivirus 2005 and did the same as you - download from the net. Then I bought a new pc and fortunately had paid the fiver so have it on my new system.
The only problem I've found is that there is a conflict between Norton and some Creative software. Fortunately the error messages supply links to Symantec to sort it out. Otherwise I think it's good stuff!!!
