Installation ************* Inserting the CD into the CD-ROM and waiting for the installation to load automatically is half the installation because the user only needs to select where they want it to be installed and what type of installation they want and all that is left is to sit back and wait. With in a few moments the software has been installed and a system restart is needed. When the system has started up again the system will start from now on with the anti virus loading every time as well as the firewall with a couple other features as well. This makes for no need to have to think about clicking
on Norton every time the computer starts. There are also no boxes that will pop up asking for decisions to be made because this software configures its self automatically.
Features ********** Anti-Virus – Norton is a well established software business when it comes to anti virus software because of how good and easy it is to use. This version is just like previous additions except additional virus definitions have been built into it. For those beginners out there you must be thinking “Well, how am I expected to keep these virus definitions up to date?” and the answer is that Norton has thought of it by having an inbuilt up date feature which is able to connect to the Norton server and download the latest software to defend your computer from nasty viruses.
Firewall – With large amounts of the UK having broadband connections in their homes in the last few years the chances of getting a virus like a worm or a logic bomb getting onto your computer has risen dramatically because computers are connected to the internet for long periods of time compared to how it used to be. To prevent this from happening Norton has built a firewall into the package. Those computer users out there that have windows XP installed are most likely think “I’ve already got an inbuilt firewall from windows” but the different between that one and the Norton firewall is that the windows firewall will only prevent incoming traffic but the Norton firewall will prevent any programs that have been able to get onto your computer from sending messages like personal information onto the internet.
Parental Control – If you’ve got kids and want to know that there not going on something that they shouldn’t be going on without having to put your head over their shoulders all the time then this feature is excellent by just clicking on the button. To prevent the kids turning this feature off it is possible to set a password.
Anti Spam – The anti spam filter is built into to this package to help protect your email if receiving annoying adverts, viruses and scams. This feature is very helpful if you receive your email by downloading it to your computer because anything could be there.
Use ****** When wanting to alter something about this software most things can be done with just a couple of clicks making the user have to do nothing at all and forget about it. That is perfect because no one wants a piece of software that keeps popping up every five minutes asking “What do you want to do about this?”.
Value for Money ****************** When I bought this software I paid £25 for a twelve month subscription. This is an excellent price considering what is included in the package and by comparing it to other products on the market.
Recommendations ********************** Norton products are some of the most popular products when shopping for software and I agree with this because I think software like this package is excellent. I would recommend this software package to anyone with the home need to have an all in one package. This package does have a few features that would be very useful to some small businesses as well.

I use this program and have had no serious problems. But I do regularly scan with the program and find trojans that seem to be doing nothing (but don't really know much about them) but are there, on my computer. Somehow quite a few seem to get past the program, although it is ment to stop them from comming down at all or at least warn me... :S
