So that your baby never uncovers himself. Before the age of three, babies wriggle around in their bed and very easily uncover themselves, with the risk of catching cold and waking up during the night. 70 cm. Features: Machine washable at 30°. Veloudoux. Winter.
Advantages: great nights sleep for baby, stops them pulling covers over face Disadvantages: none
...My baby has just turned four months old and over the last few weeks has become very mobile in her cot, meaning she has been wriggling out of her covers and going on little adventures up and down her cot!! As a result she has been waking up in the night - just as we had start to get her sleeping through.
I had been told about baby sleepingbags by a number of people and so decided to give one a go.
I decided on a Slumbersac - a blue and dark beige sleepingbag with little giraffes on the front with blue feet.
So what is a slumbersac?
Basically, it is a sleepingbag available in different togs (weights) ranging from a 0.5 - for use in very hot rooms or during the summer right up to 2.5 which is for cooler rooms and use in the winter. The sleepingbag has a zip all the way around as well as poppers on each shoulder so that baby does...

Advantages: Baby cant get tangled up in it, or crawl down under it. Disadvantages: None
...a press stud fastener underneath each arm for small babies, this just ensures that your baby cannot wriggle down into the bag and that they are snug and secure. There is then a zip fastener that zips right the way around the bottom of the sleepingbag, making it simple to get your baby in and out with the minimum of fuss.
These bags come in sizes 0-6 months (can only be used for babies weighing more than 7lb), 6-12 months and 12-18 months and come in a range of Togs from 1.0 upto 2.0 togs, which means that you can use a smaller tog in summer and a higher tog in winter.
The sleepingbag also came with a handy room thermometer, I stand this on my shelf and it tells me what temperature the room is at and also gives and idea of what tog you should be using for the baby according to the temperature, which I find very handy.
We couldn't use...

Advantages: Baby can't kick off the covers which means more sleep for parents - YIPPEE Disadvantages: Quite hard to get hold of in High Street stores
...When my brother first gave me a baby sleepingbag as a gift when my son was about 3 months old I thought be was having a bit of a laugh - Sleepingbags, for babies, well it just seems odd.
But it was the middle of Winter at the time and I was will to try anything to get a little more sleep.
So come bedtime I bagged up my bundle of fun and laid him down in his cot and he slept like a babe, all night and from that day on I was converted.
So mums I urge you get rid of those cot blankets this really is the way forward, they cant wriggle under them, they cant kick them off which mean baby is safe and happy so you can get on with whatever without worrying.
When Sam was six months and with Summer approaching I visited the Grobag web site to get a bigger bag. They have an extensive range of varying fabrics and designs and diffent TOGS from 0...
