Numark are consantly updating the firmware for the CDX and have made it very easy for the home user to do this with a download available from their website. you burn it to cd pop it in the drive job done.

there are some known issuses with the early cdx.

the CD player works and looks just like the numark TT direct drive turntable, with 2 start stop buttons and start up speed and break controls and programable pitch controls so you can set it up to feel like almost any turntable you have used before.
you can scratch just like on a real turntable with added features to only play a part of the scratch, the forward or backward part.

The unit also comes complete with effects built in. the effects range from filter to sonar and are controled with a jog wheel for smooth effect ranges.
you can chop, slide, ptich bend, filter and sonar (like phazer)and even play the cd backwards with one touch.

along with the standard connections you expect RCA, relay and digital there are 2 midi ports on the back to allow you connect the deck to a computer, drum machine, keyboard or to another CDX for auto dj the 2 CDX can sync with each other.

the LCD display is both BIG and bright so you can see what you are doing in the brightest or darkest of conditions
