I upgraded to these decks from a pair of Numark TT1650s....and wow what a decision!!
The first thing that hits you about these decks is their weight - they are heavy beasts. This certainally makes them feels the part. It might make moving them around a little more difficult, but its a small price to pay. The weight helps to keep them really stable a gives your vinyl a secure base to play on. The weight is mainly due to two reasons, firstly the steel casing which makes the unit really sturdy.
Secondly the motor. These decks have the highest torque I've come across. The higher the torque (for those of you that don't know) the higher the force needed to stop the platter (the circular base you put the vinyl on) from turning. This is important when mixing since you are always touching the record, and don't want the base below to stop ...
Advantages: huge pitch range adjustable start stop Disadvantages: ugly not the most practacal
I had a pair of these Numark TT500 for a short while and although good they left me wondering WHY.
Numark are old hands at making good quality dj turntables but i dont know what they were thinking when desiging this one. part of a dj set up is the look and 2 of these used normaly with the tone arm and pitch control on your right and a mixer in the middle looks a little silly.
The tone arm design is straight which again i found very different and wierd.
apart from the looks its a good turntable with all the functions you expect.
the pitch control has a huge range, Variable pitch range 8/10/20/50 %.
and adjustable start stop speeds.
This is pitched as a high torque direct drive tturntable and yes the torque is good but i have felt better.
all in all a good turntable, great if you need the extra pitch range not very good if ...
had a pair of these now for about 4/5 years and they r still going
strong.
they are a very sturdy and powerful turntable (i think the torque is somewhere around 5-6kgs) which i think is either two or three times that of the technics turntables, which makes it a lot easier when mixing your next record. i also like the fact that you can change the tone arm from the original s shaped arm to the straight arm which is great for scratching, there is also reverse, the ajustable start and stop which is ok but not very useful, there is the adustable pitch, the quartz lock and the extra bpm setting of 75 bpm. all in all i'd have to say that this is a great product at a reasonable price ...

Manufacturer's product description
MixMeister DJ software combines the spontaneity of live DJ performances with the pinpoint precision of the best studio production software. Mixmeister lets you mix up to eight songs in a perfect beat mix at all times, so you're free to improvise with effects and shape the music in a million ways. It supports harmonic mixing, VST effects, intelligent looping, MIDI hardware controllers, and more.
Numark's MixMeister Fusion is a powerful mixing/sequencing application that give DJs greater ability to expand into remixing and producing mixes beyond traditional mixing and blending.
Numark's MixMeister Fusion allows a DJ to reconfigure a mix with a workflow similar to DAW (digital audio workstation) software. This innovative approach makes it possible for a full-length mix to be constructed and produced on-screen. By automating most beat-mixing tasks, MixMeister Studio DJs can mix up to eight songs simultaneously and take advantage of exciting features like intelligent looping (up to eight measures) and the ability to overlay samples and sound effects. The software records all of a DJ's actions and manipulations and allows them to be tweaked and altered to create the perfect mix.
In addition, Numark's MixMeister Fusion adds the spontaneity and excitement of live DJ performing with multiple audio outputs and support for headphone/monitor cueing. Fusion features include an ultra-stable "perform mode" playback option, wireless remote control of mixes and the ability for DJs to manually beat-mix with external audio sources. MixMeister Fusion lets live performers expand and manipulate already-complex mixes to make the most of live mix manipulation.
Numark's MixMeister Fusion offers expansion via connectivity with a wide range of MIDI hardware controllers, and when the mix is complete it can be exported as an MP3 or burned to a CD using the software's integrated burning tools.
