This monitor is one of my complete favourite buys for scrumpy. At first I thought it was ridiculous and screamed out 'nervy parent trying to throw away their money', but using it gives me such reassurance. It really is brilliant to stop that ridiculous paranoia that is 'oh my goodness, he has been quiet for at least 20 minutes, do you think he is ok, what if he has suffocated?' It creeps up on all of us at one time or another, even the most laid ...
...In short, this device stopped me going in and checking (inavertently waking up) my new born every hour, just beacuse my baby blues were telling me that something was wrong. The movement pad is excellent and picks up babe's breathing, I can't tell you how many times it has gone off when we have lifted scrumpy out of his bed, but I quite like that, as it continually lets me know that it is working! His breathing translates as a little moving pendulum ...

Bumbo Seat - Useful for about 4 weeks

Advantages: Good for getting them to sit up in the in-between stage before they can do it themselves
Disadvantages: Bulky, not used for long

...heard great things about these Bumbo Seats & I'm sure for some people they are great but we found it very different to others so thought I would let you know... We purchased ours from Mothercare along with a tray which fits onto the seat, it was £36.99. It comes in various colours (blue, pink & red) & is quite heavy. The bumbo basically has a shape of a babies/young childs bottom in it so they can sit in & be comfortable...it encourages them to ...
...& then crawling so the bumbo became redundant...we used it for nearly 3 months & even then it wasn't every day or often really. RAinforest baby swing - every mum should have one !!

Advantages: spinning animals, swinging movements, soothing music.
Disadvantages: may come of floor on highest setting slightly.

This is a great swing that sooths any baby that goes in it. I have two baby cousins who as soon as you put them in this swing they are instantly quiet and are sleeping in minutes. It comes with a little song and outdoor sounds. It has about 6 different swinging motions and allows your baby to swing from side to side or front to back. The rainforest jumperoo is a very expensive toy for a baby. It cost £90 and it is a good toy but I do not think that it is worth this much money. You can buy this on offer sometimes.
