Dreaming of a peaceful night's sleep.

Advantages: Provides some light.
Disadvantages: Too loud.

When I was just over 8 months pregnant with my son, I was ready to leave work to rest and prepare for the arrival of my baby, my work friends gave me a voucher to use in Mothercare as a leaving gift. So I went to Mothercare and had a good look around, I didn't need anything because I had already bought everything I needed for the arrival of my son. So I had a look at what other things would be suitable for a newborn and decided on a cot mobile, ...
...show. It was priced just under £20, which seemed reasonable. Tomy is a trusted manufacturer this made purchasing the item easier, the Lullaby night light features Winnie the Pooh who is a recognisable and favoured infant character. This product is suitable for newborns and should be taken down once baby is mobile, it doesn't specify what age it goes up to but my son was able to pull it off the cot once he could reach it. It is a nice size (24 ...

Not just a baby monitor

Advantages: Has a night light, can talk to your baby to provide reassurance, fully portable
Disadvantages: Baby unit does not have a rechargeable battery

We were bought this monitor by my parents following the birth of our baby and we are now just starting to get the use out of it. There are two units, one for baby's room and a parent unit and cradle. On the baby unit there is a night light which is blue in colour and has a very soft light so doesn't disturb baby and you can see without having to turn on the main light. The night light can also be switched on and off via the push of a button on the ...
...set up so that the monitor will only transmit when baby makes a noise in order to save power. The baby monitor can be plugged into the mains or can be used with 4 x AA batteries which makes it fully portable (although we leave ours plugged in as it is always in the same place). If you do decide to use batteries there is an alarm that will sound to warn you when the batteries are running low. Another good feature on the monitors is that it displays ...

Monitor Your Baby

Advantages: peace of mind
Disadvantages: none

Baby Walkabout Advance from Tomy Living in a flat I felt I did not really need the most high tech and expensive of monitors and just needed one that really did the job. I was looking at all the ones available to buy on Amazon and this one sprang out at me. It was not the cheapest monitor going but it certainly was not the most expensive either. Monitors range from about £15 up to an astonishing £100 plus. The latest ones out on the market offer ...
...your baby as well as hear their sounds and monitor room temperature. I feel however the television screen is a little bit much and think I would find myself glued to the screen while all the time away from the baby. This particular baby monitor set me back only £29. I think this is a fair price for what you are getting and this included the postage and packing. The monitor arrived within two days and was so simple to set up and start to use. The ...

Cheap and useless

Advantages: Cheap, easy to set up
Disadvantages: Apalling sound quality and headache inducing interference

...bed. So I spot this Tomy Baby Link, it looks basic, no fancy 'see your baby, talk to your baby, monitor your baby's breathing' nonsense. And it's $(pounds)14.99 (I will eventually get a keyboard with a pound sign, until then please bare with me). Bonus! So I get it home and out of the box. It consists of a baby unit which transmits the sound and a parental unit which recieves it. As the name suggests they are designed to simply plug into plug sockets. ...
...#Quality Sound #Mains operation #Volume control #Finger Grips #Power 'on' indication #Easy to use Now when I try it out I find I have no problem with some of these (they are fairly basic). It plugs in easily to the mains, the power 'on' indicator lights up. But, unfortunately, with it comes a high pitch noise (I was gonna say squeal but really it's more like a continuous tone or hum). So I go to the problem solving section of the manual which tells ...

...very expensive) I found the Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance and after reading a couple of reviews I decided that this one should do the job just fine. Whats in the Box? In the box you get a set of instructions whish tell you how to get started and how to use all of the various features these monitors have, you also get two baby monitor unit, one is the baby unit and one is the Parent Unit and you get two mains adaptors (one for each unit) The Units ...
...and 20cm tall inc aerial) and are made from a very sturdy plastic, the main body is white and the aerial (a rubber material) and various buttons are a light blue colour. On the parent unit you have the power button on the top and next to it you have a talk button this allows you to talk to you child if necessary, it works like a walkie talkie, you just press and hold the button and talk into the unit (the talk back function also has adjustable volume). ...
