Barnaby Bear mamas & papas moses basket Advantages: looks lovely and is sturdy Disadvantages: same as with all moses baskets- will prob only last for approx 3 months ...retailer rather than direct from Mamas and Papas as this saved us around £20 and only cost us approx £60. the stand cost us £20. I would suggest always searching for a bargain online or on ebay as its always cheaper than from the main retailer. It comes with a foam mattress that can be replaced for approx £10 if you need another. It has a shade type hood although i found it didnt tend to stay up very well. shhh baby sleeping! Advantages: sturdy, comfortable Disadvantages: hard to clean! Buying this basket I chose this moses basket out of the hundreds out there because I happened to be in Mamas and Pappas at the time and this was the one which looked the nicest. I must admit that I'm the sort who thinks, if it's expensive it must be worth it and so I thought I would buy most of my equipment from mamas and pappas seeing as it's more expensive than mothercare etc! I also liked this not just because of price but because it ... ...which look like they're pretty flimsy which, to me, isn't very safe for a babyw hen it's thrashing around. Comfort The mattress that comes with this fits very snuggly so there's no gaps at all between the edges for baby to get their fingers stuck in which is always good! cosy cradle Advantages: cute n cosy Disadvantages: creaks We bought this moses basket as we liked the fact it was neautral in colour as we didn't know whether we were having a boy or a girl. The moses basket is really cosy as it's lined with a fleecey lining and theres a lovely little hood to pull up which adds to the cosy element. The basket comes complete with a little duvet cover although duvets are not recommended for newborns so it's a bit pointless really- looks nice but pointless! shhh sleepy baby! Advantages: neutral colours Disadvantages: creaks! Here I am again reviewing another of my baby items- I'm like a man obsessed! I have just sold this basket on on E-bay and it made me realise it needs to be reviewed so here goes! We knew from as soon as possible that Baby B was going to be a girl but this didn't make Mrs B go crazy with buying pink things instead Mrs B wanted to buy the I Love My Bear range from Babies R Us. ROCK A BYE BABY Advantages: Easy to move around Disadvantages: Not used for very long ...bought a moses basket from mothercare for both my children when they were baby's. On both occassions i already had a cot but just didn't like the thought of them being so little, placed in a cot looking so lost. In a moses basket they looked so cosy and warm. The moses basket i had was plain white and frilly it came with a very basic mattress could have done with a bit more padding and a light quilt with a detachable washable cover. It did not ... ...problem i just used a pram sheet or cot sheet and folded it over the mattress. The actual basket itself was made out of natural palm leaf and had two handles either side. It also had a pine rocking stand and a hood on the moses basket. It cost around £39.99 Another good thing i found with the moses basket is unlike a cot you can move it around. They are not heavy but tough and strong enough to hold a baby.
