After comparing the contract tariff to the pay as you go in detial, I realised that the deal was not that good and that the pay as you go package was a lot better value for money. Nevermind ... ...Then we had problems with O2 customer care. They got a bill wrong 4 months ago and still keep messing it up and costing my wife in bank charges due to their incompetence.
The biggest problem is there is no way of contacting O2 customer care without paying 50 pence per minute for the hassle of speaking to people who seemingly cannot competently do their job of caring for the customer.

At first this deal looked reasonable and I got it for my wife because some kind soul had broke into her car and nicked her pay as you go mobile. Nevermind I thought, at least the wife got a free phone so in the long run the price would be the same as shelling out for a new phone and staying on pay as you go. Then we had problems with O2 customer care. This situation is still continuing with the latest bill being over £300 instead of £21 and O2 saying that we either cancel the direct debit or the money will go out of the account and not be returned for 3 weeks. basically this is a bad tariff with poor value for money compared to other providers and lousy customer support If I could turn back the clock I would only consider O2 for pay as you go!!!
Advantages: Able to see your bill and useage 24/7 Disadvantages: 0870 numbers to contact O2
and 200 texts for £19 a month plus vat. I was in text heaven and nothing was going to beat this was it? For two years I was happy till I felt the need to have a camera phone it was at this point last year that I upgraded my phone plus my tariff to the Online 100 .
O2's Online 100 tariff basically gives you 100 anytime any network minutes a month plus 500 text messages and 1mb of internet browsing. Picture messages can be sent as part of your allowance at a rate of 4 texts to a picture message, this allows you to send a mixture of texts plus picture messaging and not incur any charges till you go over the magical 500 mark. All this is available for the princely sum of £25 a month on a 12month contract. You are not able to roll over unused texts or minutes.
Should you go over your allowance then you'll find that you will be charged ...
Advantages: Plenty of inclusive text messages Disadvantages: Expensive calls to other networks
I purchased a phone from O2 online this month to take to university with me. It's contract is for 12months minimum, at £25 a month, with a good quality sony ericsson phone.
As I tend to organise most of my social life via text message, I have found the 500 inclusive minutes very helpful in ensuring I don't go over my limit! The contract also allows me 100 minutes of phone calls to any network ,at any time, which means I don't have to remember which network my friends are on. 100 minutes is usually plenty for one month.
However, once this limit has been reached, the price per minute to non O2 phones jumps to 40p, so be warned if you plan to frequently use the phone to make calls.
After a thorough check of high street shops, I found the online tariffs to be much better value for money. I would recommend this contract if you are likely ...
