~02 Pay As You Go~ Pay As You Go means you are free of a contract and you pay for the phone all at once for example if you buy a £139 phone. You pay the full £139 up-front. For Credit on your phone you pay £10 for a top-up card. You can do this whenever you want and how often you want.
~Price Plans~ For the first 30 days you can access 02 Active (GPRS) for free and get a game / ringtone worth £2.50 free if it is compatible with your model and 5 free picture messages. From 02 to landline, daytime weekday calls are 35p per min and evening calls are 10p per min. Weekend calls at anytime are 10p per min. From 02 to 02 mobiles they are 20p daytime, 10p evening and 10p weekend. From 02 to another network its 50p daytime and 30p weekends and evenings. Text Messages are 12p at anytime to anyone. WAP / GPRS is 10p per min / free for the first month of purchasing the phone. Or you can have 1p per page viewed. Well thats the technical and boring stuff out the way!
~02 Handsets~ 02 have their very own range of phones which are known as the 'X-Range' I had an X1 once and i don't really recommend buying one, if you are going to get a phone from the X-Range, i would most recommend the X4 which is the latest model and includes features like Megapixel camera and 3G.
~02 Active~ Active is what all colour 02 phones will be directed to when logging onto GPRS / WAP. It consists of pages that can give you the latest headlines, sport news, downloads for your mobile, travel news and driving directions plus loads more! 02 charges you 1p everytime you view a page or 10p per min if you do not change pages.
~02 Downloads~ On Pay As You Go, downloads cost £2.50 for a polyphonic ringtone, £2.50 for a wallpaper and most games are £5.00 although you can get some for £2.50 if you're lucky! Downloads are delievered straight away with no hassle, the download actually starts automatically if you confirm. It takes about 30 secs for a ringtone to download and will let you preview it before you save it. If you do not like it you do not save it and 02 will not take away your £2.50.
~02 Customer Care~ I have been quite a loyal customer to 02 since i got my first mobile so i expect them and customer care to be loyal back to me. And they are. When i got my Motorola V220, the internet would not connect. I found out from someone that i had to ring up 02 to get them to connect my internet. The lady down the phone was very helpful and guided me through step-by-step of what to do and voila, my internet worked. I would strongly recommend phoning the customer care service if you have a problem with an 02 phone then going to an 02 store.
~02 In-Store Staff~ The in store staff are as thick as planks when it comes to something that does not involve purchasing a phone. They have to phone up someone that knows what they are talking about and then they say that they can't find a problem with your phone and you're left unhelped. They also take their time when dealing with customers have you will normally have to wait a minimum of 10mins in a normal 02 high street shop (in Watford anyway)
~Would I Recommend 02?~ Yes, i would strongly recommend 02 if you want cheap price plans and good customer care.
~Thanks~ Thank you for reading my review. Hope you enjoyed it. James
Advantages: Good Customer Service, Rewards Disadvantages: Charged for using voicemail
I've happily been with O2 as a Pay as you Go Customer for just over 2 years now, The service they provided me with was excellent as they had plenty of bolt on's to choose from depending on what you mainly use your phone for.
** What are Bolt Ons?**
Mainly they are there so you can get the most out of using your Mobile Phone i.e whether you're a Textaholic, Talker etc.
Basically you pay a set fee which is taken from your credit on your phone and ... ...the Bolt Ons?**

I have been on contract with another provider for quite sometime and have slowly found my bills creeping up. My other half has a 02 pay as you go sim card and was always going on about ... ...I was unsure of joining o2 as I was once upon a time a contract customer of theirs and there customer service was flat as a pancake. However, with Pay as you go, you tend to not really need to speak to a customer advisor or customer services. Most things you need to know are on the website and it is all pretty self explanatory. Plus you have to pay 25p per minute to speak to them and they really are not worth that much!! As long as this offer stays ...

Advantages: Best pay as you go text messaging offer around Disadvantages: you have to keep track of how many messages you send
...have been a customer of O2 now for about two years, and find their pay as you go contracts very reasonable. I myself have one of the genie sim cards, where you get a choice offree text messages or free any network, any time minutes. Since i have had the sim card i have taken advantage of the free text messages. where for ten pounds O2 give you 300 free messages, the amazing thing with this is that you still keep your ten pounds of credit to use on ... ...has to. The O2 customer services are always helpful and always do everything they can to help you. i recently had my sim enabled to work in NZ and singapore, which was free and complete in 5 minutes. I have also found the network coverage to excellent, whilst travelling around the UK, i have only every found myself without signal a small number of times. One of these times being whilst in the Lake District (for obvious reasons)
i would say this ...

Advantages: cheap evening and weekend calls Disadvantages: paying for voicemail
I have been an O2 pay as you go customer for nearly four years now during which i have been able to keep the same phone number, even tho i have changed my handset numerous times.
With O2 at night time and at the weekends on this particular priceplan calls to landlines and other O2 mobile phones are only charged at 2p a minute.
I have also found that while using O2 i can get a great signal anywhere so far.
One disadvantage is tho you need to pay ... ...a total of nine pounds back.
O2 are also very helpful if you need to phone customer services the people there are always very happy to help.
I would definetly reccomend O2 to anyone considering on it as an O2 customer myself i dont think i'll ever change networks again. ...
