I have the phone in front of me so I'll tell you some more but with alot more detail.
---------- The look ----------
The phone is silver and has 3 buttons under the screen the 2 side button are for your phone calls answering and ending. The middle button is for the joy pad mainly for searching through the menus if you choose not to use the pen. It measures 14cm in length, 8cm wide and 3 cm thick, now i know it sounds like a bit of a brick but you really have to hold and see one to know that its not as bad as it sounds. On the top end of the phone above the screen is another 2 button one in each corner, the first one is for the contacts instead of going all the way through the phone to get to them all you need to is touch this button. The other button is for your calendar same idea just a shortcut. on the top of the phone is the on an of button when you turn it on all you need do it touch the screen and away you go. Like every other phone on the bottom of the phone is where the charger goes. On the side of the phone you have got 2 buttons and a up and down slide switch, the top button is for getting in to your notes which can be hand written using the pen (which i always find myself doodling on) the bottom button is the camera when the camera is on you will see 3 tiny boxes in the corner 1 has a picture of a camera which can be touched to chance over from camera to video recorder, another box which has a picture that is pretty much the same as a folder you touch this if you want to get in to the photos you've already taken and the last box has a picture of a screwdriver and a spanner this is for the camera settings. On the back of the phone the top quarter is black this is where the camera lens is. On the other part of the phone it is silver this is the slide off part for getting to the battery and sim card.
-------------- features --------------
This phone has many features I'll do a list this will make it easier to understand.
1) START menu which is exactly the same as a P.C. When you get into the start menu you will notice everything you would get on the P.C (near enough)
The start menu has these features :-
Today - takes you back to the main screen Active - Which gives you all your Internet options Active sync - This allow you to connect to your P.C by USB Contacts - This is all your phone numbers, which is also very good as you can store names, addresses, work details and have a photo for each of your contacts.
Inbox - This is where you will find your messages that you have been sent.
Internet explorer - This allow you to access the Internet on your phone and browse the web
Notes - This you can hand write on the screen and put what you want to put.
Task - Just like any other phone this allows you to set yourself targets
Ultra profiler - This is to set your profiles for your phone
Windows media player - Everyone knows what this is and for those who don't this is so you can listen to music or watch films on your phone.
Programs - This contains all your folders (documents, msn messenger, photo albums, Microsoft word, e.t.c.)
Settings - This allow you to change the settings on your phone and Internet settings.
Find - This allows you to find files on your phone if you can't find them anywhere else.
Help - This is there incase you need help working out what the phone does.
The only thing I've found a problem with was the charger because I only got the USB charger so for me to charge my phone everytime i have to plug it into the computer, so if my phone goes flat while the comps off i have to turn the computer back on.
But the really good thing about the phone is you can use it as your camera for the P.C -------- Price -------- Like most phones they can be very pricey but you can get them for a slightly good price but like everything you have to shop around a bit.
I bought mine for £100 of a friend. The cheapest I've seen them for is around £150-200 and that was out the ad-mag you can buy them on ebay too for a bit of a price of £250-350. But with the amount of features you get this is well worth every penny (or pound. lol)
My opinion it that I would tell anyone to get one.
I have also written this somewhere else it isn't copied it all my own work but I thought I would say before anyone thought I'd started copying I can't see the point in doing so cause it doesn't get you anywhere. If anyone would like to know where my other work is leave me a message in my guestbook and I will gladly tell you where. lou xx
Advantages: Phone & PDA in 1, Crammed with features... Disadvantages: Expensive, poor battery life, bugs in software
...end of my contract with O2 and my old iPAQ Pocket PC was looking quite sorry for itself so I had a brainwave... why not by a Phone and Pocket PC in one?!? After reading reviews and information I decided on the XDA2. Unfortunately, I didn't know that much to make an informed decision so you could say I walked into the purchase with my eyes closed... so please read on for the type of review that I required 7 months ago ------ P.S Sorry about the length ... ...first... The XDA2 from O2 is one of the newest generation of mobile/organiser devices on the market. It incorporates a fast 404MHz processor and 128MB RAM /to store your programs. Powered by Microsoft Windows Pocket PC 2003 operating system it handles the tasking of being a mobile phone and a PDA reasonably well.
The two are kept integrated but seperate with the use of an on screen selecting which toggles between "O2" mode and "Windows Pocket PC" ...

Advantages: PDA and phone all in one Disadvantages: Hopeless battery, too many quirks
...two fold - the leather O2 case which protects the phone well but doubles the size, or an aluminum case which opens like a book. Both make you look like an 80's stockbrockerwhen you're on the phone. How I have been ridiculed on occassion!
2. The battery life. Even just using as a phone on standby, I have to charge it every 24 hours. My previous Nokia would go at least a week without needing charge - and this is very inconvenient.
3. The cost of ... ...like cases, car chargers, spare batteries and screen protectors can add £100 to the original outlay.
4. Niggly software bugs. Here are some that I have experienced - sometimes you can't answer the phone when it rings - very annoying. It needs a reboot every now and then. You need to download extra software to syncronise with your laptop using bluetooth. When you turn the phone on after the battery has run out, the phone is disabled - forgetting ...

Advantages: Ideal for business user, easy to use, fully touch screen, easy connectivity, GPRS, Bluetooth, PDA and Phone. Disadvantages: Poor Battery Life, Slighty large for a phone!
...2004, I was working for O2 Retail. The XDA had arrived in our stores in Christmas and was the replacement of the XDA -1. Whenever it came to selling it to customers I wouldn't know where to start because it listed too many features.
Anyway 2 weeks down the line a Staff deal arised where they were offering the XDA-2 sim free for a reasonably price so I decided to get one. The great thing about this device is that is a phone as well as a PDA (Personal ... ...there as very easy intructions included on the screen. Its fully touch screen based on a Microsoft Windows interface. If you want to make call, simply touch the phone icon and away you are to make calls. Sending Text/ MMS messages is very easy by using the touch screen qwerty keyboard.
Adding apointments and contacts couldn't be simpler as the interface design is very friendly. It also allows images to be stored next to contacts which can be separated ...

Advantages: Versatile, easy to use, great for work and fun Disadvantages: tomtom sat nav is dodgy, photo quality is poor.
The XDA II is proving to be an extremely useful addition to my lifestyle.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I had little trouble getting to know my way round the simpler functions. Using the phone and bluetooth, making notes, using word and excel, all were easy to start using.
THE MANUAL
This fully explains all the features of the XDA II and I would recommend reading through the areas that are relevant to your use of the product.
Initially the manual is rather ... ...not as easy as it should be, but it is no worse than any other manuals like it I have seen.
THE PHONE
It has good speaker quality
Ringtones are easy to add to it (after a leaf through the manual). One great aspect is that if you have a headset or use speaker phone you can write notes and access other programs while having your phone call. This has been invaluable as I do use my XDA II for work as well as play.
THE XDA II AS A PDA

Advantages: Phone, e-mail, sms, internet capable Pocket PC Disadvantages: Needs reloading completely when it loses its charge
Firstly I love this pocket PC. It's supplied by work so it has all of the bells and whistles and I don't have to pay a thing (a definate bonus). That said I don't know what anything costs for it.
The main disadvantage is that the battery only lasts three days if you don't use it. Admittedly you can turn flight mode on to lengthen the battery time (you can't actually turn the XDA off) but that means that you lose the messaging, e-mail and phone facilities until you turn flight mode off. If the main battery gets down to 15% (I think) then it stops you being able to turn the screen on (the main battery drain) and if the main battery goes down to 0% you've got about half-an-hour to get it on charge before everything gets wiped. This means that it has to be resyncronized with your computer and all of the software and files reloaded. It ...

Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: No OS reference input, maps maybe a little out of date.
I've wanted a GPS navigator since I saw the first demonstration many years ago but until recently they've been far too expensive to justify. Recently, with a new phone needed and my 40th birthday coming up, the excuses fell away.
My TomTom software is installed on my O2XDAII - a better solution for my needs since my phone, PDA and GPS software is all in one device. It connects to the separate GPS receiver via Bluetooth.
Anyone who has only used an older hand-held GPS device (such as my prehistoric Garmin GPS38) will delight at the speed and accuracy of modern GPS devices. From cold your location is found within a minute or so, from a 'warm start' less than half that. On the road the locations appear to be inch perfect (although in truth some of this is clever predictive software).
Setting a route couldn't be easier, tap ...
