WOW £63 free credit from O2!!!!

Advantages: great rates and offers, good network coverage, good customer service online
Disadvantages: costly when used abroad

I have used O2 as my phone network provider for over eight years now (dating right back from when they were initially BT Cellnet!). My loyalty to O2 is strong as a result of having had such a positive experience with them for so many years. Therefore, I feel that it is time that I shared my experiences with all of you!

===Pay as you go===
Being young, I initially had pay as you go simcards with O2 and found them to offer some better deals than other networks at the time. I obtained an O2 Genie Sim, which as long as I topped up at least £10 per month gave me 300 free text messages. There were various other offers by O2 and at one time I had free phone calls to a chosen landline ... more

I'm Certainly Not Disappointed - O2 Overall

Advantages: Superb deals and offers, excellent network coverage
Disadvantages: Poor quality handsets

...people who don't like the O2 network, making claims that they are unreliable and over charge but to be honest I couldn't ask for more. Let me tell you why I chose O2 as my network and why I will be a customer for life. ••A Bit About O2•• ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ O2 was brought to us, the consumer, by the merging of two networks called, BT Cellnet & Genie. After merging these two companies together they created the now ever popular network ...
...& Reliability•• ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So O2 claim to have network coverage of 99% of the United Kingdom, they also claim that no other network provider covers any more than this, so this is definitely a huge selling benefit for O2. I have been in the depths of hilly Scotland and not suffered from any problems with coverage on my phone. The signal strength albeit does weaken when in very remote areas, but from having experienced this issue ...

O2 - A great network!

Advantages: numerous call plans, broadband, mobile e.t.c
Disadvantages: NA

O2 is a UK mobile telephone operator, which is part of Telefónica Europe. I have recently rejoined O2, as most of my friends are on the network, and I would therefore benefit more. == How to join O2 == Joining O2 is really easy. You can either become a Pay Monthly, or Pay as you go customer. You can ordered a sim card, from their website, should you wish to go pay as you go, using your existing mobile. Full details of current Pay Monthly plans, ...
...I have always found the O2 network coverage to be fantastic. I have never experienced a lack of signal, in the area that I live. Therefore, the O2 service, in my opinion is very reliable, as I always have an active signal, that is able to allow me to make calls and texts == Pay As You Go == When you order a sim card online, you are sent a sim card pack out via the post. When it arrives, you are presented with an envelope, which contains : * Use ...

O2 never again - you would need to pay me

Advantages: Good Phones, Cheap Line Rental
Disadvantages: Not enough space will have to read below

...This review is about O2 and the service that they offer. I will aim to give an honest account of my dealings with them including the good and the bad points. I am a Financial Director for a local company and needed to get some new mobile phones for various members of the team. The network we were on did not always get coverage in the rural area that we work so I shopped around. O2 are doing a business deal where you are given a free Nokia phone ...
...(more 25p a minute etc) O2 admit they have made a mistake and send our phones out to us. No apology, no reason, no explanation. In total we now have 7 phones with them. Last month I checked the bill when it was sent through to us (our 4th bill that is all) and found that on every phone the calls made were less than the free 100 minute allocation yet we were billed for approximately half of all calls made. I emailed the help icon on the web site ...

...but decided to get an O2 Pay as you talk Sim card since my better half has (actually "had") an O2 contract phone. Now, since then we have both had nothing but problems with them (yes, its a "rant-view"). However, to be unbiased, let me tell you about the good points and the advantages to O2 first. ...5p a min to other O2 mobiles. My other half had a fantastic contract deal as well - 500 minutes and zillions of texts for around £25 a month. She also got a fantastic deal on her phone - a (at the time) state of the art Nokia 7210, with camera attachment, for free. I had paid £149 weeks previously on Voda, so I must say I was pretty gutted. There is a very wide range of tariffs available, both on contract and Pay as you talk, and a very good range ...

No 2 O2

Advantages: Have a shop in most High Streets
Disadvantages: Appalling service

Whenever I have a problem with my phone I have found the staff at the O2 shop completely unhelpful! I first had a problem with my SIM card which I had bought online. As I had bought it online the O2 shop didnt want anything to do with the problem and told me to call customer services! To call them costs 50p per minute and then you end up stuck in a queue forever! The next problem I had was that I was being charged for calls I hadnt made. I was immediately told by the shop that it was my fault as I must have made the calls whilst abroad (despite not having been abroad). They told me that if I wanted to see a copy of a bill it would cost me £10 because I am a Pay & Go customer! Not only were the staff unhelpful on this occasion but outright rude to me! Even after numerous calls to the customer services dept and a letter to the head ...

Review of O2 Shop

O2 or not O2 in this case....!!

Advantages: They use O2's stores...
Disadvantages: They are a complete waste of time.

Firstly I would like to point out that this is not a moan at O2 although, in a roundabout way, they are involved. I recently took my wife's phone in to an "O2" shop in London as she was having trouble sending text messages. The error was "SMS barred". The repair centre said they had a good idea what the problem was, something about the SMS software needed re-installing, and that they could send it away, get it fixed and have it back to me in 2 weeks. They estimated it would cost about £25 to repair (which coincided with their minimum fee!!) 2 weeks passed and I hadn't heard a thing so I called the O2 shop and they said they hadn't heard anything from the repair centre where they had sent the phone off to. To cut a long story short I made over 80 phone calls and over a dozen visits to the shop to get it sorted out. Only when I asked ...

Tesco mobile network - in fact O2 coverage

Advantages: O2 coverage (best in the UK), free credits, easy top up, unlatch possible
Disadvantages: high call charges (expected with PAYG phone)

/picture messages to mobiles. They can be used for mobile internet browsing too. However there are some restrictions - no international numbers, no premium rate numbers, no 08... numbers and you can't use it outside this country. The third good thing is the flexibility of top-up: online, in Tesco, by phone and ATM cash machines with the Tesco mobile top-up logo. Furthermore, you can set up you 5 favourite phone numbers (including landline) to have half-price call charges. The high call charges are expected for PAYG phones anyway. If you want low charges, the ASDA mobile network is very cheap however its Vodafone coverage may not be as good, at least in Oxfordshire. The fourth good thing is the coverage. O2 coverage is still second to none. Instead of buying the same phone under 'O2' network, you pay less (~£10) for it to be under 'Tesco' [O2 ...
