Advantages: Super Fast Disadvantages: A bit expencive for an average system!
I purchased the OCZ2gb (2x 1gb) Platinum ram when i revamped my PC. What a difference it makes! I have never been able to open so many applications, and switch between them so quickly.
The installation was very quick. One complication though. Although the packet does not tell you, the ram runs at 2.2 volts, not 1.8 which computer are default set to. This is because the ram is designed for gaming, and so is more power hungry. If the voltage is not changed the ram will not run as quickly, and there will be no point buying the ram. To adjust the voltage is easy, just enter into the bios settings of the motherboard, buy clicking one of the F buttons while the computer loads up. These are very good value for money DDR2 modules but don't expect them to do wonders when overclocked or run at tight timings. Even when raising the VDIMM, you won't get them to run at 3-3-3-10 at 800MHz. Anything above 900MHz is a hit or miss situation depending on your board and whether you're using 2 or 4 of them together.
At 800MHz they run just fine, but expect about 900MHz or so most stable. Tested this on a IP35 PRO motherboard that's regarded as a very stable board (and it is!).
I don't know why they're branded "Ultra" since one would expect them to overclock more, run at tighter timings to be called as such.
Overall nice cheap buy that does the job, but for the real enthusiast whose expecting a little "Ultra" enjoyment look elsewhere. ...

The memory design is the same as any memory and the code will correspond to type of motherboard you have so make sure you get the right one. It's simple to install and you shouldn't really come across any problems installing the memory the instructions are provided and it's quick and simple.
