I work in a busy mid-size office and we have had a colour HP printer for some time now taking up a large area of the office space. We have finally gotten around to taking the decision to upgrade and thoroughly reviewed all the options and reviews on the Internet and came across the OKI C8600. Initially impressions were unbelievable, it is quite, fast and half the size of all other printers on the market at a really good price. You have to see it to believe it. Now instead of a large A3 laser printer taking up a whole corner of the office, the C8600 is happily sitting on my desk and we have a coffee machine in the corner instead. Everyones happy.
A few details on features:
Design: The design of the C8600 is flawless. It is just an amazing looking A3 printer that fits on my desk and everyone in the office connect to it over the network. I suppose it could be improved if you painted a nice black and grey colour. It is ideal for anyone in an office or at home after an A3 printer and want to save on space.
Installation: Really simple plug and play. First put in the ink cartridges and the connect it to your PC via the network or USB ports and your away.
Performance: We had a HP colour laser printer before, and this bad boy is so much faster. The colour speed of 26ppm is fantastic, but what is even better is the time for first print. First print time is pretty much instantaneous compared with the other colour laser printers on the market. You can quite easily have this printer sitting next to you and you will hardly notice the noise it makes it is that quiet.
Printing Quality: You might expect the A3 laser printers to not perform as good as the A3 inkject printers, and you would be correct. Most other laser printers, HP, Epson print quality are not that good. The C8600 is considerably better and certainly on par with the inkject printers. I really dont know how they have done it so well. You can print off A3 banner imagery no problem, we never had this functionality with the HP.
Conclusion: We are very pleased with the decision to purchase this printer. In terms of A3 colour laster printers, I cannot imagine a better model that is currently on the market that this one for its price and performance.

Oki are a really good make of office printers. Couple of questions which I think a consumer would like to know, and if you add the answers into your review give me a shout and I will return. Firstly, what are the running costs, as in how much is the ink and how often do typically need to replace it, and secondly does it suffer at all from paper jams, ink smudging and how easy is it to fix.
