If, like me, you live in a hard water area, you will notice how quickly scale builds up on your domestic appliances. I descale my kettle, coffee machine and shower regularly, but forget about my washing machine. Now I have discovered OUST dishwasher & washing machine cleaner, which comes in powder form. It is so easy to use…just tip the contents of one sachet (there are two in the box) into the washing machine drum and run the machine on a 60o cycle. Or if you are using it in your dishwasher just tip the contents into the bottom of the machine and run a normal programme (no pre-rinse) I was amazed at the result. The machine drum shone and all the lime scale on the glass door had been removed, and the machine smelled fresh and clean. Recommended usage is every three months in hard water areas and every six months in soft water areas. I paid £1.79 for the cleaner from my local branch of Wilko, and as I said, this is for two sachets. Not a lot to pay when you consider the damage lime scale can do to your appliances. OUST cleaner is made by Dylon International Ltd. who are well known for other household products. I was very pleased with the results from my first use of the product and will certainly be using it again. One word of caution; as with all products of this type, take care when using and keep out of the reach of children.
