WeightWatchers Ocean Pie

I tend not to buy processed food all that often. Not because I prefer working with fresh ingredients, it’s because I imagine the people doing the processing. Next time you see someone with gangrene on their hands, lice in their hair and ringworm in places we dare not speak of, just imagine them on the production line – trust me, you won’t be eating so much pre-packed food that month. I have always been overweight ever since I was a little girl, in fact I have a lovely photograph of me aged about 10 and I am a dead ringer for Bessie Bunter! I have never been obese, but I could definitely do with loosing a couple of stones. But at least this one does have fish in it! Given my disastrous eating experience with Weightwatchers Chicken in White Wine Sauce, I was wary about trying another in their frozen food range. But having already purchased the Ocean Pie, I wasn’t going to throw it out without giving it a chance. So, here goes. PACKAGING The pie comes in a purple box with the usual Weightwatchers logo. o.k, o.k, I have managed to fall a little lower (again) with the title. But it is true! The fishy smell hits you as soon as you open the darned thing! I am of course refering to the Heinz weight watchers meal I opened last night for dinner. Ocean pie. Fishy indeed. Weight Watchers from Heinz Ocean Pie - 300g (please see end of review for extra information regarding this product) APPEARANCE AND SMELL I microwaved mine and it came out looking very sloppy with no browning visible on the potato topping. Getting it out of the carton is basically a case of tipping it out on your plate where it lays vaguely resembling a pile of sick! There were flecks of carrot and a fair few pieces of fish approx an inch long at best.
