I have never been a great lover of fruit juice, either still or sparkling, fresh or long-life, unless it's the middle of a very hot Summer and tea is out of the question.
Then I started to get recurrent cystitis and when my daughter Kelly mentioned to me that she drank Cranberry Juice for a condition she has and that it was supposed to help 'water infections' and the like, I thought I would give it a try. I started with an own brand cranberry juice but i didn't find it very palatable at all. Kelly told me that the best she'd tried was from Ocean Spray, so the next time I did my weekly shop I decided to buy some. I didn't know what the taste would be like and wasn't really looking forward to it that much.
How wrong I was! From the first moment I tried Ocean Spray's Cranberry Juice drink, I was hooked. In my opinion it tastes a lot like Ribena so anyone who likes this type of drink would probably like Cranberry Juice too. I always make sure I have a carton in the fridge, ready-chilled, as I'm not quite so keen on it from the cupboard and a little warm. :-(
I have read a lot on the benefits of Cranberry Juice over the months and it is highly recommended for ailments concerning the urinary tract, such as infections and cystitis and they think it may keep such conditions at bay, although a visit to the GP is always recommended as a first port of call before turning to Cranberry Juice and this should not take the place of conventional medicine but possibly work alongside antibiotics, for example. They have carried out many clinical practices, both in this Country and the US and came to the conclusion that it has an invitro impact on E. Coli etc. It may also reduce the severity and frequency of cystitis attacks and may even prevent a Urinary Tract Infection developing in some situations. Interestingly enough, it may also slow down the growth of candida, which is responsible for the horrible thrush some people suffer from.
Cranberrys were used by Native American Indians to reduce inflammation, draw out poison and as an antiseptic and the first recorded use of cranberry juice by medical practitioners was as early as 1923. They are grown mostly in North America and Canada.

CAUTION:
Certain people should be careful and follow the advice of their GP's before taking Cranberry Juice. These include:
** People with Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Cranberry Juice may increase the risk of diarrhoea in these patients, so they should only use Cranberry Juice with caution.
** Patients with upper gastric tract irritation may find that acid type drinks aggravate their condition.
** The majority of Cranberry Juice drinks contain sugar. For this reason, diabetics must seek medical advice from their GP or dietician as to which Cranberry Juice to choose, the amount to drink and when to drink it.
** Acid based drinks, which include Orange Juice as well as Cranberry juice, may increase joint pain in arthritic patients.
Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice can also be bought containing other flavours, such as Cranberry & Raspberry, Cranberry & Blackcurrant and Cranberry & Apple. For those of you who like a tipple, it is also ideal as a mixer with vodka, rum or schnapps!

Once you try Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice for the first time, you will be hooked. I get through around two cartons per week as I find it so thirst-quenching and if it's doing me good, all the better. At £1.05, the cost is about average for a carton of juice. ...have been a fan of Ocean Spray juice drinks for a long time and decided to try their new "Pure Juice" drink range.
CRANBERRY AND LIME
````````````````````
This drink is pure cranberry and lime juices "naturally sweetened" with grape and apple juices. They use American cranberries and the drink has no added sugar, artificial colouring, flavouring or sweetners.
Despite it's name the the lowest ingredient content percentages are the lime and cranberry, ... ...apple 28%. Even though it is the lowest amount the lime juice is the most predominant flavour almost completely over powering the other flavours making it almost a weak lime juice with the dryness of cranberry and sweetness of apple and grape.
This is however a very thirst quenching and refreshing drink.....but very moreish. On the carton it states that you should drink it all within 4 days of opening....unfortunately after opening the 1 litre carton ...
I personally prefer the pure cranberry juice, because it is concentrate, it is not too sweet and I have already good experience with the juice I am drinking.
I only buy Ocean Spray. One bottle holds like for two weeks. I think that 3GBP every two weeks is not too much for a healthier living ...
Advantages: Crisp & refreshing and good for you!! Disadvantages: 'Spout' opening is an annoying design!
Ocean Spray make a range of cranberry juice products. I would say the most well known is their original Cranberry Classic Juice Drink. Cranberry juice is a delicious drink!!
~~Packaging~~
The product typically comes in a 1 litre carton from your normal shop and supermarket. I've been a fan of this cranberry juice for a long time. I actually picked a couple of cartons up last week as they were on offer in my local supermarket; £1.50 for 2 cartons. ... ...eye-catching one, with a nice photo of bright red cranberries, with the 'Ocean Spray' logo above. This is set on a white background. The pack itself is sturdy, and even has an easy-open spout. This is great when you haven't got the nimble fingers to rip off the little corner to open the thing, but my brother has complained about the spout on this carton. I'll go into it into a little more detail for you. The esay-open spout is in fact plastic, which ...
Sodium: Trace
Vitamin C: 75mg
Ingredients: Water, CranberryJuice from concentrate (25%), Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Sugar, Vitamin C.
It does contain relatively a lot of sugar, so those who are worried about that might want to limit their intake. A 250ml glass of the juice contains 80mg of Proanthocyanidins (PACs) act on certain harmful bacteria on the body to keep yourself fit and healthy. The juice is also fairly rich in vitamin C with 125% of your recommended daily allowance (RDA).
The packaging is in the form of a terra pack carton. It is white and blue in colour and has a large OceanSpray logo on the front with juicy cranberry's to encourage you to buy. It has a white plastic lid which is resealable by just screwing back on. The packaging is not widely recyclable however, if you go online you can often find places where you ...
"Deliciously different" is what the makers claim, anyway - we'll see!
OceanSpray are the best-known company producing cranberryjuices and drinks, which is the reason why I picked this brand over any others. The OceanSpray logo - a blue oval with "OceanSpray" in white writing inside, and a picture of a wave - is widely recognised as a quality brand, and I bought this drink under the impression that the level of quality I expected would be present.
The bottle that I have bought contains a litre of the cranberryjuice drink, which is 20 standard servings. It is suggested that you dilute one part of the concentrate with four parts water to give yourself a 250ml serving, although I know that some people enjoy their drinks stronger, and others, such as children, benefit from a lower concentration of the drink.
The bottle is clear ...
a fairly new addition to the UK drink?s market, OceanSpray White Cranberry and Grape Juice Drink.
So why am I reviewing this particular drink? Well like a lot of people, I was intrigued by the idea of white cranberries and wanted to see what they tasted like. What?s more, I like grape and so opted for this particular flavour. However, if you don?t like the sound of this, you could always try one of the other flavours ? White Cranberry and Peach and White Cranberry and Apple. I haven't tried either of these yet, though.
Anyway, back to the Cranberry and Grape variety...This one boasts a deliciously light and refreshing taste and one that the whole family will enjoy. It also claims to be free of artificial colourings, flavourings, sweeteners and preservatives and states that 200ml of the drink provides you with 100% of your recommended ...
