Excellent Commuter/Learner/FUN :)
Advantages: Quiet, Economical, VERY Forgiving, will last forever cos its a honda! Disadvantages: Low top end speed, not for those with short legs.
I bought an 06 XR125L5 to use both for commuting and for fun off-road. This is quite a physically big bike, assuming decent leg length average height male should be fine, however my friend is 6ft (2 inches taller than me) and cannot get both feet on the ground completely flat so if you have short legs this wont be the bike for you.
On-Road
Comfort - smooth ride, takes the local potholes in its stride plus if you are in right gear whisper quiet.
... ...Speed - from stand still to 40-50 very nippy, getting above 50 takes a while however that might just be my inexperience as I am new to biking.
Off-Road
Tyres- if you live in England and you want to use this bike off road I suggest different tyres, the stock tyres are pretty poor in mud, they are a bit too road biased.
Handling - apart from issues with mud these bikes are brilliant off-road, even when that tree stump you didn't notice bucks you ...

= HONDA!!
This bike in supermoto form i.e. road wheels is a proper hooligan machine you set of from the light front end IS up in the air. please note that the "IS" means you dont have a choice it will happen! with the biggest grin on your face you never thought you would have, and watching the faces of everyone around you and the 4 stroke 650cc's are working there magic.
1.The look of the bike is a beauty theres ... ...If your a shy person or dont like things loud and powerfull get a scooter. First step to Bikerdom
Advantages: Easy to look after, easy to ride, cheap to run & maintain, Japanese reliability. Disadvantages: Good ones getting rare now, not as quick as modern bikes. No fuel gauge.
...up with a B reg Honda MTX125 with seized rear suspension and absent front brakes. But as he assured me, for £350 we could afford to spend a bit on repairs and it wasn't a grenade on wheels like the other bikes we'd seen.
The MTX125, first released in 1984, was Honda's answer to the new 125cc learner laws, and was the replacement for their ageing XL range of twinshock trailbikes. The MTX looked light years ahead of the old XLs, with it's monoshock ... ...slinging a leg over the Honda for the first time was honestly a bit of a task in itself. You'd think that a manufacturer with the research budget of Honda building bikes ridden mainly by teenagers, that they'd make the seats a bit lower. Being a bit of a shorty, I could only just make both my toes touch the ground at once, not ideal when you're plodding about in first gear feet down as only a true learner can. However, a few turns with a spanner ...

motox champ
Advantages: faster, needs no modifying Disadvantages: none so far
...then we found out that honda had actually changed the style of this years xr80r. Not only did the bike look sleeker, it had extra plastic guards protecting both front panels. One thing that really pleased us was the fact that the bike needed no modifications unlike many of it's rivals, it did not need the clutch altered or anything. So we opted to buy one and have'nt looked back. It's performance far outdoes any bike we have owned before, it' faster, ... ...fast off road bike and definatly not for the faint hearted. Any child can ride an off road bike, there are training clubs all over the country. Once you have learnt to ride you simply choose a motox club near you and join. Accident cover/insurance is advisable as you will experience many tumbles to start with. Kids can start on an auto bike at age six and progress in stages. Look in your local telephone directory for motox shops where you will be ...

Does exactly what it says on the tin - and more!!
Advantages: Price, low running costs, reliability and cheap insurance Disadvantages: Lack of top end speed
...mine, I went into a honda show room looking for a CBR125R but when I seen this beside it, I literally laughed at how small the CBR is in comparison to this bike - I read review sites for the CBR and no one listed the height of it, or maybe I ignored it because it looked okay in the pictures!
This little package of joy is a mean looking learner legal machine, guys on big bikes won't believe it's a 125 due to the height and road presence that comes ... ...and have not had a spot of bother even though I've put 10,000 miles on it from new, just a new set of tires and a bulb replacement, which is of minimal cost.
The tires on these machines are great, very grippy and allow for a good angle on the twisties, the suspension is great - you never feel a bump on the road and most of all the fuel economy is outstanding! I get over 100mpg on my little bike - this appeals to first timers and full time bikers ...
