a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. The magic of the Wii Remote's design lies within; acellerometers inside the controller body measure movement in all directions and at all speeds. In a tennis video game, it serves as your racket as you swing your arm for a long forehand or a quick and hard backhand. In a 4x4 driving game it serves as a steering wheel, allowing you to swerve to avoid obstacles or pickup power-ups. In first-person shooters, the Wii Remote acts as a firearm that you can point directly at an on-screen enemy. The list of potential uses is enormous, and the light weight of the Wii Remote allows gamers to play for hours without feeling fatigued. The Wii Remote is equally comfortable in right and left hands and houses just the right number of buttons for gaming- not so many that new players will get confused, but enough so that Wii games don't feel constrained. On the face of the remote are the D (or "plus") pad, a large "A" button which is used for major on-screen actions, and two small options buttons. Between the game buttons are a plus and minus buttons (which often act as "forwards" and "back"), as well as a "Home" button to engage the Wii home screen to change settings or check remote battery levels. On the back side of the controller is a trigger-like "B" button, perfect for timing releases of a bowling roll in Wii Sports.Thankfully, battery life is excellent with the two included AA batteries, just as with the previous generation of Nintendo wireless controllers.Wii Remote FeaturesBluetooth Wii Remote Control Maximum controller connections: 4 Operating distance: 5 meter Size: 148mm (L) x 36.2mm (W) x 30.8mm (D) Pointer: Pointing function Motion sensor function Oscillating function Buttons: A, B, - (Minus), + (Plus), Home, 1 and 2 Extension unit connectable Speaker Player indicator

all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated. The outcome is the Wii Remote controller. Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device for the ages! Sporting the size of a traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote controller is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket you swing with your arm. In a driving game, it serves as your steering wheel. For first-person shooters, the remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on. Using Bluetooth technology, the wireless Wii Remote controller sends your actions to the Wii console from as far as 30 feet away. As a pointing device, the controller can send a signal from as far as 15 feet away. Up to four Wii Remote Controllers can be connected at once, making for some great multiplayer fun! In addition to its pointing and motion-sensing abilities, the Wii Remote controller also includes a speaker and expansion port for additional input devices, such as the Nunchuk controller.Buy new Wii Games cheaper at GAMES Basement

Advantages: Great Fun, Good Exersize Disadvantages: Graphics Maybe
I think that the NintendoWii is one of the better consoles on the market for the family as they are lots of competitive games available on it to interest all the family, including Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wario Wares and Mario Party just to name a few.
The Wii Fit is an interactive console that stimulates gameplay by using movement instead of just button bashing, the graphics arent always as good on the Wii as they are on the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 but I as a bit of an old school gamer think that this is one of the charms that the Wii holds in its simplicity.
You play Wii games with your Wiiremote that is senitive to movement as long as you have the receiver near by to receive the signal from the remote, this normally sits discretley on top of the TV that you are playing Wii on.
You can customize your Wiiremote by buying ...

INTRO
Nintendo have always tried to change the gaming world, but have always been beat with microsoft and sony. Nintendo have come up with the ideas and put them in the console, but have always missed out th key features of a game console such as graphics and sound. Also Games on the Wii ahve not all been satisfactory. Because The Wii has such inovative features that the games have had to be changed so muchthat the gameplay was not always up to the top level. However the Wii has entertained many people and with the new release off wii fit and the balance board has really got people into the nintendo mood. Wii fit has made the wii capable of taking over about 50% of the fitness world.

Advantages: User friendly. Disadvantages: Can cause fatigue if over played.
NintendoWii is a great gaming console. I received mine as a gift from my Auntie. The first time I played Wii Sports took me a 8hrs of playing since its very addicting. Graphical interface is good with 3d plus a nice sound capability will bring the game for real. The look itself is beautiful and the interface is user friendly. You don't have to worry about the Wiiremote to be broken since it has a silicon cover with a strap. It is a gaming console for the family, every one from our family can play even my grandmother. It's a best way to bond with family and friends while enjoying the real life action from the wii game. I'm pretty sure that anyone who will use this gaming console will enjoy. ...
