Although I have sensitive skin I knew it would be all right to use the moisturizing fluid, as I had used my mother in laws on quite a few occasions. I am now starting to look old and haggard, so for my birthday last year when asked what I would like, so without a second thought I answered some Oil of Ulay. My family trailed through the shops but could not find the product I required. Of course I had forgot to mention the name had now changed to Oil of Olay. What the hell was that all about? The makers Proctor and Gamble only changed it by one letter and I understand the reason was the word Olay instead of Ulay was much easier to say in certain countries. The word Ulay was often mistook for the word greasiness and after research it was found the word Olay was much more acceptable to all countries which used the products. From the beginning of 2003 the words Oil of have been dropped from the packaging altogether.
Although I have sensitive skin I knew it would be all right to use the moisturizing fluid, as I had used my mother in laws on quite a few occasions. She did mention that at my old age of 43 I really should be using a moisturizer daily, as it would keep the skin feeling soft and silky. You will have fewer wrinkles when older she laughed. I looked into her face and had a hard long look. Well she didn’t look bad for seventy I agreed so she must be doing something right.
On my birthday I was on a holistic retreat and I had taken a birthday bag with all my presents in there. I could see four little packages with only one of them being slightly smaller than the others. Not being greedy I opened the smaller one first. Ooh a lovely a bottle of moisturizer, just what I needed. I continued to open the other three packages. You guessed it four bottles of Oil of Olay active beauty fluid in total. There were three 220ml bottles and one 150ml bottle. At least I wouldn’t need any more for a few years. I did get some other presents when I returned home but it was not quite the same.
Before applying the moisturizer you are advised to cleanse your face and neck thoroughly. Ok I done that so now I am ready for the moisturizer.
I sometimes have trouble-unscrewing objects so I wondered if the bottle lid was going to be a challenge? No problems this time as this was an easy to unscrew lid, well that’s a good start. The bottle contained a nice pale pink coloured liquid that is nice and creamy to the touch. It does not have a distinctive smell and you really have to have a good sniff to smell it at all. I decided to slap it onto my chin for starters. I soon realized how dry my skin had become as my skin immediately soaked up the liquid like a sponge. It felt cool and refreshing so I continued slap some more on this time including the whole face and neck area. Even around the eyes I had no stinging sensation occur. I did have to repeat the process three times the first time I used it, as my skin was so dry. After applying so much liquid I did expect to have a shiny nose but this product left no shine at all so I could safely leave the house without looking like a glowing beacon. My hands were not left at all greasy after the application so I was thoroughly impressed with my Oil of Olay. I now use the lotion as part of my daily routine and probably will do for many years to follow. If you ever meet me you will be able to see how youthful my skin looks. Yeah right I hear you scoff!
Oil of Olay active beauty fluid is PH neutral and dermatological tested. Also the product claims to be 100% perfume free.
PH Balanced = this means that if a substance has a pH value of 7, it is neutral, being neither acidic nor alkaline.
Dermatologist-Tested = this is a term that denotes that a product was safety-tested under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist.
You can also buy the hypoallergenic version of the active beauty fluid. Hypoallergenic = Products that are hypoallergenic are tested to show that they reduce the chance of allergic reactions.
There is an Oil of Olay website. Some of the sections are still under construction but they do on occasions offer free samples in exchange for a little bit of information about you. If you join club Olay you can receive all the latest offers and information. You can buy all their products via their web site with up to date prices. Of course most supermarkets and chemist stock a large range of Oil of Olay products.
I saw an Olay advert on the television last year and was amazed to see that they were celebrating their 50th Jubilee year just like the Queen. I have always associated Oil of Olay with older people but now wish I had started using it years ago. They have loads of other products, so my next purchase will just have to be the anti-wrinkle cream. Maybe I should just break all the mirrors in the house so I just don’t notice the wrinkles appearing every day.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and rate my review. Fionaxx
Advantages: easily absorbed, pleasant smell, not too greasy Disadvantages: has a reputation for being for the older woman
...what kind of a reputation Oil of Olay has. It is for the older woman who wants to look younger. Being only 18 i dont have older skin so i thought it would be pointless, (feel free to hate me by the way if you buy this for its anti-ageing qualities). Anyway the cream smelled nice when i applied it and it was extremely easily absorbed. It left no grease on my face, which is combination by the way. I have a really oily T-Zone and dry cheeks. This makes ... ...they are always too greasy for my T-Zone or not rich enough for my cheeks.
Olay was different. It balanced out my skin and it even kept grease at bay which is important for a teenager.
I used the rest of my mum's bottle, she wasnt best pleased and then i went out to buy myself some more, the price was about £5 for a 75ml bottle, cheap compared to Clarins etc and not much pricier than supermarket own brands, but leagues ahead of both.
The packaging ...

...(and sometimes both) I get Oil of Olay Active Beauty Fluid.
Now, this isn’t a case of my friends and relatives trying to tell me I look old, at least I don’t think it is – maybe I should check on that one. As far as I know it is just that they all know that this is my favourite moisturiser.
I have tried quite a few over the years and I always come back to Oil of Olay and if I am lucky enough to get a couple of 200ml bottles at this time of year, ... ...your skin is very sensitive Oil of Olay also make a hypoallergenic version of this product.
I use this fluid at least once, sometimes twice a day, after cleansing my skin. All I have to do is squeeze an amount about the size of a 5p piece from the bottle onto my hand and then gently massage it into the skin on my face and neck. I don’t even have to avoid the area around my eyes.
It is absorbed very quickly and leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft, ...

Advantages: IT WORKS Disadvantages: Not the cheapest on the market
...have always thought that the Oil of Olay range was for people over 40 who wanted to make their skin feel and look young again.
I must admit that my perception of Oil of Olay was probably gained from the Oil of Olay adverts which USE TO appear on our television screens.
At the age of 16 I had not used any moisturisers on my face at all. However I found that my face had suddenly started becoming dry so I hit the shops to buy one of the teenage moisturisers ... ...and saw a advert for Oil of Olay. The advert made me think that it wasn't just for the over 40's so the next day I popped down to my local chemist and bought myself some Oil of Olay moisturising fluid.
I have been using Oil of Olay for the last six months and it has solved my problems with spots and dry skin. I think that Oil of Olay has the right formulation which moisturises my face but also because its not greasy it prevents the spots coming ...

Advantages: skin is smooth after using and it is lasting Disadvantages: smelt abit like baby lotion
...and do we think using OIL OF OLAY makes us think we are getting old, I mean isn't it only middle aged women that use it. Well I am 32 and I am becoming fast aware that THE LINES ARE COMING, HELLLLPPPPP!!
I am fast becoming one of these women that is well aware, get to your thirties going to bed with makeup on etc(yes we have all done it)after a girls night out and then wake up in the morning looking like a giant PANDA next to your hubby.
WELL ON ... ...oil of olay is described as being ACTIVE BEAUTY FLUID and came in a 100ml bottle for the price of around £2.39. Well I got excited you know, you think this has to be brilliant and will work miracles because everyone has heard of this product.
First on opening the bottle the smell was pleasant but seemed to remind me of BABY LOTION, So I am not convinced yet. I then went on to apply the cream and it was really soothing(well we get this kick out of ...

Advantages: light and non-greasy while still moisturising Disadvantages: the very last bit of cream in the bottle can be difficult to get out!
I have very sensitive skin and most conventional beauty creams make me break out in a horrible rash that will stay on my face for days - so much for 'beauty' products! As my skin is also really dry, except of course for the dreaded T-zone, I am always hunting for face creams that will moisturise without making me look like I've got chickenpox after using it. I would not have decided to try Olay beauty fluid unless my sister had insisted that I should ... ...bottle to suggest it is suitable for sensitive skin, or that it would be different from other creams I have tried. However, I tried my sister's beauty fluid one night when my face was feeling particularly tired and dry and I was surprised at the smooth feeling it left without any itchiness or allergic reaction whatsoever. The day after I still had not had a reaction and my skin felt smooth and, dare I say it, wrinkle-free. Obviously I went straight ...

My husband has been looking for a good, light moisturiser to use after shaving for a couple years now.
After-shave irritates his skin and he also wanted something that didn't pong too much. He finally found Oil of Olay Sensitive Skin Active Hydrating BeautyFluid.
My husband bought it because it claims to be for Sensitive Skin, non-clogging to pores, and scentless. We've both found this true and use it almost all the time now.
Now for my own experience.
I have used moisturizers every day now for over 15 years. I've tried many different kinds, mostly those which you can buy at a chemist or supermarket.
