I have a cleanser and toner. I use a top salon brand which makes my skin look totally fantastic. But then can I be bothered to faff around with bottles and cotton wool pads early in the morning or late at night? Well no, its difficult enough hauling myslef out of bed in the morning , let alone having enough time to spread several types of gunk on my face.

So I need a quick fix for those nights when you come back from the pub feeling a little woozy. I have used quite a few Olay products before and have been really pleased with the results. But this time it was'nt the brand name that lured me, it was the fact that they were on Buy one get one free in my local Tesco. I'm a true tight fist at heart!

The Packaging

These Daily Facials Express come in a flat packet with a re sealable flap for you to take one cloth out at a time. The packet is mainly blue, kind of blue waves with the seal giving you all of the info about the product.

So they are wet cleansing cloths, which supposedly take off dirt, make up and most importantly for me Waterproof mascara. Added to the wipes are Olay moisture and Vitamin E. So fingers crossed they won't dry your skin out.

The wipes that I have are suitable for normal/dry and combination/oily skin. So I think the general message is that they are okay for preety much everyone. Saying that you can buy the same wipes in a sensitive variation. So there you go.

There are 25 cloths in each pack. And they are textured, but I'll explain about using them in a momento. They don't contain alcohol, but looking at the ingredients on the back of the pack they do conatin a lot of chemicals. So not for the pure nature lovers. I can't see Lanolin listed though.

Well lets give these a whirl....

So you have to peel back the little sticky doo dah to get your wipe out. They are easy to get out, you don't pull about seven out when you only need one. The seal sticks back onto the packet really well. So no dry wipes for me. The one thing that strikes me about these wipes to other cheaper ones Ive used, is that they are huge!

They measure 16.5cm x 19.1cm..so when I lie it flat on my hand it drapes right over it. My God ..the excitement! The smell is nice and fresh, not too overpowering. Maybe a little bit similar to Dove soap in a roundabout way.

On closer inspection they are textured into little squares like a tiled floor. I guess this is to really get the deep down dirt out of your skin.

The Mug test..

I take the wipe and smooth it over my face. I usually start with the dirties bits first, like my nose and forehead, then sweep over my cheeks. I then move onto my neck, which does seem to get really dirty due to me never taking a rather thick chain off.

The proof in the pudding though will be the removing of my copious amounts of mascara and eye liner. The eye liner is gone within a couple of sweeps, without too much pulling and dragging on the delicate eye skin.

Now for the waterproof mascara, oh God, its finding it difficult. I would just like to add that this is a £2.99 Maybelline one..so its not a tough welded on one. By this time I have the wipe furiously scrunched up into a ball trying to get the remnants of my eye make up off.

I think its off. To see if there is any left on my lashes I run my finger over them. There is the slightest residue left. Try not to get any cloth juice in your eye as it stings like hell as I found out..These wipes do claim to be Opthalmologist and dermatologically tested.

Now let me gaze at my lovely face...

My skin does look very clean and radiant. The cloth is fairly dirty, so it must have come from somewhere. It has removed all of my foundation and other gunk that has been caked on. The one thing that is nice is that your face doesnt feel squeaky, like all of the moisture has been stripped away.
My face does feel soft and moisturised.I have actually not bothered to use a moisturiser sometimes after using these wipes. And I havent had any flakes of dry skin appearing.

I use a wipe sometimes twice a day. This is where one of my gripes comes in. There are only 25 in the pack, now with my dodgy Maths if you used one twice a day, you barely have a fortnight of cloths.

Also you cant flush these, so you are just adding to landfill, which is another factor of using throwaway products.

How much are they..and where can I get them?

I bought mine from my local Tesco. They were £4.50, but were on buy one get one free. I am not sure that I would buy them at normal price. I have also seen them in my favourite Superdrug. So if you want to try them see if you can get them on offer.

Im now over half way through the pack..and the seal is still working.....
