I've just got to the end of my bottle of Olay Daily Renewal body wash. Now, I didn't buy it for myself, it was one of the many things that my sister gives me after her skin reacts badly to it. I was half way through the bottle when I started investigating petroleum products/by-products and reluctantly decided to finish the bottle because it is quite expensive. I suppose it goes without saying that I won't be buying it again for the petrolatum (mineral oil/baby oil) reason.
On to the product: They have changed the bottle since I was given it, but my bottle is gold black and white. On the front it boasts 40+ uses with the olay puff (any old puff thing you can buy cheaply will do - which is a plastic net that causes foaminess when used with shower products!).
Apparently the wash is supposed to give your skin 24hr moisturisation, improve your skin's elasticity and it's pH balanced. It is a shower creme rather than a gel.
Whereas I did not feel the wash dried my skin, or made it feel tight at all, personally I did not find it very moisturising. I didn't really NOTICE any improvement, that's the point I guess. It's easy to use, easy to rinse off, just basic stuff really, and the selling point is that it is SUPPOSED to make your skin feel more supple. I reckon there are cheaper and better (more organic) products out there which I would prefer. This wash definitely doesn't "renew" your skin's moisture levels with anything resembling your own body's oils.
I dunno what kind of dermatologist checks these things, but petrolium products still seem to be approved even though they can cause skin problems/block pores, cause headaches, and hormonal/health problems (see my other reviews on superdrug solait and original source mousse). Another point I need to make is the fragrance. It is pleasant enough I suppose, but is a bit strong. In fact, if I had a headache or felt a bit queasy this perfume was not very good at all. It is a bit sickly and penetrating at times. I can only describe it as the sweetest rice paper sweets you can ever imagine!! Odd I know, but that's what it smells like to me.

Basically I would not recommend it for the above reasons. I know the Olay brand is popular, but I'm not convinced.

...to my surprise I found Oil of Olay Renewal Body wash in the bathroom, I have to admit to being a fan of Oil of Olay, but I had never used this product before.
It was different in texture to the other shower gels it was thick and the smell was really soothing. Perfect for use after a long day sights seeing. It smells great and is gentle on your skin.
I am one of them unfortunate people that suffer from dry skin, so I had to be very cautious when ... ...a flick up cap. It does not cost that much around £4.00 for a normal size bottle. I must admit it is money well spent.
Oil of Olay does it again, it has a product that if you use it once you will want to use it again. ...

I always seem to get loads of shower gels and bath soaps for xmas. I don't know about you, but most of those things I am given just seem to sit in the bathroom and I just use what I am used too. This year I got the same kind of stuff, but also Olay Daily Renewal body wash. It came with a shower puff, which is used to get rid of dead skin from the body. Not only that but it makes shower gel last a lot longer. Normally, after getting out of the shower ... ...of my dry skin. Since using Olay, I don't need to cream myself as much as I used to. If you like me have dry skin, try this it might work for you. You can buy it from places like Superdrug or boots for 2.99. It lasts along time just because of the puff you get which lavers it up and speads easy. I would recomend this not just to people with dry skin, but everyone who wants to keep there skin smooth and soft. ...

I would recommend Oil of Olays daily renewal body wash to people with dry skin as it provides 24 hour moisturisation and has a nice distinctive aroma which lasts.
I am a great fan of Olay products and find it a brand you can trust which provides great value for money.

I would like to compliment Oil of Olay on thier amazing product Daily Renewal Body Wash (Shower gel). A 300ml bottle lasts about 3 months, making the product an extremely good buy. When used with the body scrub puff, it does seem to be very economical, working up to rich lather that leaves the skin feeling wonderfully refreshed and revitalised.
